Session
What is Dual Credit?
• Dual Credit refers to courses taught by NCTC in which students are eligible to receive college and high school credit simultaneously.
• Courses are limited to those applicableto high school graduation requirements.
NCTC Requirements
• Must have minimum high school grade point average (GPA) of “B”
• Exhibit maturity and social behavior necessary to be enrolled in a college level course
• Be classified a junior or senior• Demonstrate college readiness by passing TSI(Texas
Success Initiative).
NCTC Application Process• Complete NCTC Application for Admission at www.applytexas.org.• NCTC staff will be at Bowie High School March 24
to assist with completion of applications. There is no application fee.
• Orientation will be offered on April 2 at BHS. If you do not attend the orientation on that day, you will be expected to complete it online by yourself.
• Take TSI which will be offered at BHS on April 11. The cost is $25.
NCTC Registration Process
• Official HS transcript sent to NCTC admissions• Completed Dual Credit Registration form
signed by parent, student and HS counselor or representative.
• Passing TSI score.• Provide proof of meningitis vaccination.• Payment for tuition and fees/tuition waiver• Payment for books

BHS Requirements for College Algebra
• Pass math portion of TSI.• Complete Algebra 2 at high school level.• College Algebra=4th math credit
Test Score Requirements• TSI- reading 351 or higher writing 310-362 & essay of 5 or higher
writing 363-390 & essay of 4 or higher math 350 or higher• SAT- 1070 and 500 in Math and 500 in Verbal• ACT- 23 Composite and 19 in Math and 19 in
verbal
NCTC Testing Information• NCTC will be at BHS to administer TSI April 11.• Testing Fee’s:
All three sections= $25One section= $10 each
Students will need to pay for the test prior to test day.Payment can be made at the NCTC office or online.
