Each year Civil Contractors New Zealand
provides the opportunity for excavator
operators to compete for the national
title of:"Best multi skilled excavator
operator nation wide".
Competitions are held in each region
with the national title being competed
for at the Central Districts Field Days
in Fielding every March.
Awesome work CCNZ...promoting industry excellence!
Each year Civil Contractors New Zealand
Fielding proved the place to be with many people of
all ages coming to see the regional winners
compete in the National Excavator challenge final.
Mr Mac enjoyed having the competitors on site to
teach youngsters how to safely operate the mini
cat excavator, Mr Mac and Barbara enjoyed the
opportunity to judge the competitors on how they
worked with the children and their families.
It was a true test to ensure that not only could
the finalists interact with the students to
operate the machinery safety but that they
could also pass their knowledge onto others in a
clear and concise manner.
Mr Mac also spent time at the Fielding Field Days dressed up in his safety vest teaching young people how to use 3 points of contact and soft, smooth and skilful use of the controls.Young Edward spent some time with Mr Mac during the show and managed a practical application of his Maths homework working with Humes measuring and working out volume and mass.

Pen + Paper + Practice = PROGRESS!Practice your reading and writing skills at school, andyou’ll create a solid foundation for your future!
The Duffy Vision:“To inspire a love of books in children so they become adults who inspire a love of reading.”
YAHOO! Duffy Books in homes has begun for 2015. Mr Mac
visited many schools in the Napier, Hastings, Rotorua and Waihi area.
This is an activity Mr Mac really enjoys and treasures the opportunity to share
his message with all students about the importance of learning to read and write
while at school. These assemblies always create extreme laughter and wide smiles.
School is Super cool!
768 Schools and many more to come!

Teacher Comment•Appealed to all ages•All children were engaged•Choosing only a few pages from book to read was good to keep motivation and concentra-tion levels.•Great rapport with children and picking from all levels of school is great.•A reluctant writer was chosen to read and so he related to your story and was inspired by what he saw.•Children have been heard to be discussing what an author/illustrator are and what jobs they do.Thank you so much.Theresa Brady, St Josephs - Hastings
