FACTS
3.5 million Texans lack a high school credential
Rice University demographer predicts the 20% without a credential will become 30% by 2040
Only 20% of Texas jobs are low-skill and that number has been shrinking
50% of Texas jobs are considered middle-skill
Problem disproportionately affects Hispanics, Native Americans and African Americans

• 41% of HS students do not pursue a college certificate or degree upon graduation
• 206,000 individuals 18 years and older have less than a high school education
• 33% of the population lives below the poverty line
TEXAS ADULT COMPLETION AND SKILLS INITIATIVE (TACSI) GRANT
Objective: Serve 88 students in an Integrated Education and Training Program
• Co-enrollment in high school completion and career and technical education program (CTE)
• 60 enrolled in Credit Recovery program and Workforce Training
• 28 co-enrolled in high school equivalency program and Workforce Training
