Installation guide for Dr.Ketan’s custom ROM N7100

PART 1.

1. If you are on Stock ROM then first install CWM, Who on custom ROM OR CWM

already istalled

skip this step. here is link for CWM, download tar/zip version I am strongly recommend to use V6.26.6

2.Download Dr.Ketan’s Custom ROM N7100_*_Dr.Ketan custom ROM *.zip and copy

to Int SD OR Ext SD card

3.Before flashing ROM make backup of your imp data with titanium backup or any other

suits you best.

4.Reboot device recovery switch off device - press Vol Up + Home + Power

5.Wipe data Once device reboot to recovery, select wipe data/factory reset

6.Now again you will see main menu and select - Install zip

7.Select - choose zip from /sdcard OR choose zip file from /storage/extSdCard depending

on ROM file you have placed.

8.Navigate to ROM file N7100_*_Dr.Ketan custom ROM *.zip and press enter

NOW Aroma will start and you have to select options depending on your needs. Now

heading over to part 2 with Aroma selection

Before starting part 2 I like to introduce basic features of ROM and these features will be

available on flashing ROM and you need not to select any option in aroma for these basic

features.

You can enable Note3 features from Settings-My device-S Pen

Basic features of the ROM (may minor variation will be there on version of ROM)

• Pre rooted , Zip aligned

• 30 battery Mod (inbuilt 30 battery MOD including stock, you can change battery icon on

the fly (without reboot) To change icon tap battery icon three times from status bar. Don't

select show battery option in setting. tap battery icon 3 times on status bar, you will get

option for battery percent, select from there. OR You can do this with Dr.Ketan utilities -

ROM - Battery percent/Battery style

• 3minit battery mod – more than 1000 battery style. (not included in aroma, get from

• 8 Extra shortcut in notification (Turn on/off from setting-device-display)

• Virtual home and lock button – Touching on Lt end on status bar will lock screen, long

from App drawer too.

This application is built-in Dr.Ketan's Custom ROM. This application divided in four

menu. Also note that you needs to install plug-in to work this app. On opening of app it

will direct to play store to install plug in if your device lacking it.

1.Toggles - As name suggest here in this menu you will have many Toggles which you

can use to activate/Deactivate services.

Single tap on icon to activate, Long click on icon to deactivate

Incoming Call Record - This will record all incoming calls. File will be saved in

IntSD/Sounds/ folder. (If you dont have this folder then manually create it.)

Outgoing Call Record - This will record all Outgoing calls. File will be saved in

IntSD/Sounds/ folder. (If you dont have this folder then manually create it.)

Auto GPS - Will Auto On/Off GPS with some commonly GPS using app

Auto Wifi - Auto switch off wifi if no active connection more than 10min

Auto Bluetooth - Auto switch off bluetooth if not actively paired more than 10min

Smart Network - Switch off data connection with 30sec of screen off, Auto ON with

screen ON

Media scanner - To turn On/Off media scanner

Torch - Activate flash light with shaking of device with screen (home/Lock) ON, no

more third party app requires. Now using camera flashlight. Shaking with screen on -

torch on. It will auto off with screen off. Or you can shake again to turn off.

LogIn security - silently capture image is multiple failed attempt to unlock device,pic

stored in IntSD/DCIM/DrKetan_utilities/

Ad Free – On/Off displaying browser and application Ads

2.Tasks

Long press icon to apply.

EFS backup - Backup your EFS

EFS Restore - To restore EFS, Needs to keep efs.img file on intSD card root directory.

Data Fix - Just like Tb restore fix. Probably you won't require this on this ROM but still

you can use if you have FCs after restoring app with titanium

Int/Ext SD fix - SOmetime you can't read/write on SD card (int/Ext) you can use this

utility to fix issue

You needs to put raw file on intSD root directory. like if you want to flash any modem,

just extract modem.bin and keep in root directory of InntSD and long press Flash Modem

icon and reboot. same way for recovery use recovery.img and for kernel use boot.img

Auto Scan This will Auto scan only while your device connected to AC charge. and

disable when you remove from AC wall charger.

This is helpful to reduce battery consumption

3.ROM extra settings

Air wakeup – On/Off . You can wake up device by putting hand near proximity sensor

Note that if you want to select default S Finder then you have to choose My Sfinder

This is application very handy to find your car/ share location/Find location. This is

Power save plus – Regular power saving + ability to choose gray theme. All functions

will be available.

Ultra power save – S5 ultra power save

Ultra power save plus – same like S5 ultra power save but only emergency call, sharing

location,messaging,Flash light and Siren option.

2. MultiTool Menu

This screen will have three parts

• Rom Flasher – To continue with flashing ROM and utility, you have to proceed with this

menu

• Aroma File manager – This utility help you to manage to access file in recovery, you

can copy,delete ,manage permission files from here. This is helpful when device can’t

boot and you needs to transfer some files

• System Information – view information about your device

3.EFS Backup

This is very important thing and you should have EFS backup of your device.

Selecting this option then you will have efs.img (backup file) in MyEFS folder of IntSD card.

4.ROM flash

This is main menu to flash ROM base.

11. MultiDPI - You select between 240 and stock DPI

Option to select 240 and stock DPI (If you don't select while flashing ROM it will flash stock

DPI). While flashing ROM needs to select only you needs 240DPI. Also there is option to

This is last step of Aroma and still you can interrupt

installation, after this screen flashing will start and it will take care of all option you have

selected while wizard.

Tip for wanam module users

If you are using any CSC features or using Penwindo

should first implement these features and only after that should install wanam's module.

Installing wanam's module it will copy your existing features to his module resources so

any thing you apply after installing wanam's module may not effective.

This is last step of Aroma and still you can interrupt flashing/Installing by pressing Menu

So far known bugs are

If you are using more than 6 app Toolbox then touching to toolbox in landscape mode causes reboot

Summary :

Some important reminder

-This ROM you can use as multiTool too. Like if you want to make any change in mod

selection you can use ROM to reset without flashing ROM too. Like if you have selected

Rt side Internet meter and later you realize you need to remove OR change, you can re

run aroma and skip everything except required task. Also to mention that whenever you

mess up with SystemUI themes, simply you can select Restore 30 battery mod, that will

remove all existing SystemUI related mods. you have to relect all the option in SystemUI

mod along woth restore 30 battery mode.

-30 battery module, you have to tap battery symbol three time fast on status bar to get

option to change style. Also note that don't use battery percent option from setting but use

above said trick to show battery percentage.(Tapping three times give two menu, one for

charging animation and battery percent and other for battery style). If you are using any

OG battery mod, simply replace OGBatteryMOD.apk in system/app. Don't replace

SystemUI otherwise it will messup many mods.

-Selecting FullSreen Caller ID mod in aroma you will lose S5 popup features, as

Fullscreen mod is based on Note3 base.

-Stock battery module option available in aroma is not compatible with any other

SystemUI mod like internet meter/Quick launch/8 extra toggles etc.

-Note3 features : You can find Air command option in setting - My Device - S Pen - Air

Command. Also Smart Scroll and Smart Pause will be there just below Air command.

Also Smart scroll and Pause you can ON from Quick panel Toggles.

Just to note that smart scroll have two option -scroll with head position and scroll with

device position (you can press smart scroll tect menu in setting to get option OR you can

do it by long pressing from quick panel) Keep in mind that both features requires to have

Smart stay 'ON' and also needed to be in good light.

Utility - I have mentioned features in post 1 already. You can open utility from setting-My

devoice-DrKetan ROM Extra-Utilities OR Simply from App drawer. Utility requires plug

in (Secure settings) to work properly and Flashing ROM itself will flash it. Just confirm

from app drawer and if you don't find in app drawer, Open utility and it will link to play

store. Also you can find apk for off line installation from post #5

When device will boot first time (probably while you finishing setup wizard) Utility will

ask for SuperSU permission, you must grant it. and this will fix some SD card and data

issue of kitkat base. Still there is option to do it manually if you needed anytime.

-Settings UI - You will find two Settings icon, these are just two shortcut not two apk. one

is regular and other is S5 styly. Simply you can hide unwanted from launcher - menu -

hide pp.

-PullUp Mods - You can change desired app selection from Utilities-ROM extra-PullUp

chooser. If you want to have default s Finder, you have to select My Sfinder app in pullup

selection
