Driving and Parking in Oxford
For ease of reference a map of the city centre can be found below. Please do take note of the
information provided here (and pass on to your parents or to whomever is bringing you to Oxford);
every year someone enters restricted access roads and is fined.
Driving around Oxford city centre is not easy. Part of the High Street is restricted access - buses only;
cameras are strategically placed and anyone not observing the restricted access (easy to miss) is fined
£60 (£30 if paid within 14 days).
DO NOT drive down the High Street beyond King Edward Street (if coming from the West).
DO NOT drive down the High Street beyond Merton Street (if coming from the East).
Parking is available whilst you drop off your belongings. Merton Street has double-yellow lines but as
long as you obtain a permit to put in your windscreen to say you are unloading you will not be ticketed.
Should parents wish to stay longer they should move the car to one of the city centre car parks (there is
very little on street parking close to the College). Details of where they can be found is available at
