Due to the “final rule” requiring electronic logging devices (ELDs), the U.S. Department of Transportation projects that reducing paperwork time will result in an annual net benefit of more than $1 billion. An ELD system will also record driving time, engine hours, vehicle movement, miles driven and location information.1
