THE DRAFT MASTER PLAN TO REDEVELOP KARBEETHAN RESERVE

Page 3: DRAFT MASTER PLAN KARBEETHAN RESERVE€¦ · (soccer) » Gawler Rangers Baseball Club » Gawler Strikers Hockey Club » Riverside Cricket Club. The Master Plan will provide Council

DEVELOPING THE DRAFT MASTER PLANThe Draft Master Plan has been developed by drawing on:

• Extensive consultation with local sporting groups

• Input from local sporting organisations who currently use the existing facilities

• Input from relevant state sporting organisations and associations

• Council’s Open Space Strategy

• The Government of South Australia’s 30 Year Plan for Greater Adelaide

SHARING THEDRAFT MASTER PLANThe Draft Master Plan is now ready to be shared with you, as an interested community member. Council seeks your comments before we commence with the next steps of the project and prepare to seek external funding.

Please take some time to look at the Draft Master Plan:

• Provided in the cerntrefold of this flyer

• Online at: www.gawler.sa.gov.au/your-voice

• Static Displays at Gawler Administration Centre, Gawler Public Library in the Civic Centre, Evanston Gardens Library and Gawler Sport and Community Centre

FINALISING THE MASTER PLANAll comments provided during the community consultation period will be considered and appropriate changes made to the Draft Master Plan. The final Master Plan will then be presented in a report to Council.

NEXT STEPSThis project would be delivered in multiple stages that offer flexibility, allowing for a project horizon that spans over a decade, subject to community growth, demand from various sporting groups and opportunities to leverage State and/or Federal government funding. Initial discussions about the Master Plan have occurred with relevant Government departments.

Once the Master Plan has been finalised the project will then commence a detailed design phase which would then allow the design to be costed thereby enabling Council and the sporting groups and associations using the Reserve to seek external funding to support the future redevelopment of the site.
