Planning Goals Respond to the initiatives in the University’s Strategic Plan and the growth
in student population;
Increase access to a diverse group of students relative to their academic preparation, socioeconomic background, and ethnicity;
Develop, define, and improve campus connectivity and organization, including the preservation, improvement, and access to outdoor green spaces;
Correct the long-term deficiencies in facilities with the goal of gaining international prominence in its areas of strength;
Develop guidelines and efficient allocation of space for all programs and future space assignments;
Address evolving academic trends, such as the impact of: technology, online education, research, and changing instructional delivery methods;
Develop a sustainable ecological and economic plan.

Based on only those types of spaces for which State guidelines exist, Morgan’s 62,037 NASF excess of space in 2015 will transform into a -86,4243 NASF deficiency by 2025 Classroom excess is reduced (26,141 NASF to 11,614 NASF) Teaching lab excess is reduced (46,164 NASF to 5,358 NASF) Research lab deficiency significantly increases (-35,572 NASF to 63,080 NASF) Office deficiency increases substantially (-978 NASF to -32,603 NASF) Study excess becomes a deficiency (from 19,742 NASF to -6,746 NASF) Special use excess becomes a deficiency (from 2,423 NASF to -8,014 NASF) General use deficiency is reduced but remains (from -8,167 NASF to -10,106 NASF) Health deficiency remains and increases (from -207 NASF to 510 NASF)
