J. PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT:
1. As a Consultant Clinical Microbiologist to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology
(LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, I was the Coordinator of the Pathology
Laboratory accreditation in 2005 that secured Postgraduate accreditation of National
Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria for the training of Postgraduate (Resident)
Doctors in Pathology (Medical Microbiology, Histopathology, Haematology and
Chemical Pathology).
2. As a Fellow of the Medical College of Pathology of the National Postgraduate Medical
College of Nigeria, I have trained two resident doctors (since 2005) who have succeeded
in the Part I Fellowship Examination (Medical Microbiology) of the Postgraduate
College with one of them under my supervision for the FMCPath Part II (Final)
Fellowship Examination (in 2012). I have co-supervised another resident doctor in
Obstetrics & Gynaecology who have completed and succeeded in the FMCOG Part II
(Final) Fellowship Examination. Four other resident doctors are in different stages of
their training in the Fellowship programme in LAUTECH Teaching Hospital. I have
also supervised several Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) students in Medical Microbiology
and several others are still under my supervision at various levels of their training.
3. I am a member of the editorial board of four peer-review international journals and
one local journal, and a reviewer for over twenty local and international journals. I am
one of 13 contributory authors to an edited textbook of Medical Microbiology produced
locally for the training of undergraduate medical, nursing and biomedical science
students and postgraduate students in Medical Microbiology and related fields.
4. I have served at various levels and in various capacities the Association of
Resident Doctors of Nigeria (at local and national level), Nigerian Medical Association
(Kwara and Osun States), Nigerian Venereal Diseases Association (NIVEDA), and have
been an active member of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria
(MDCAN), Nigerian Infection Control Association (NICA) and Association of
Pathologists of Nigeria (ASSOPON).
