Colorectal Surgeon

Dr Simon Chew is the Principal Associate of Cutting Edge Surgical Associates and the founder of Hills Colorectal Surgery.

Dr Chew has been a practising Colorectal Surgeon for over 12 years and operates at Norwest Private Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital, Nepean Private Hospital and Strathfield Private Hospital.

Dr Chew designed his own hand-assisted laparoscopic colectomy techniques in 2004. He has been invited to teach the techniques at interstate educational workshops for Colorectal Surgeons held in Melbourne and Perth and he has also been an invited speaker at various conferences on this topic.

Dr Chew has also developed an operation to treat complex anal fistula known as Anal Sphincter Advancement Flap. This was published in an American peer-reviewed journal (Diseases of Colon and Rectum) in 2007. More recently, he has been performing robotic rectal surgery for rectal cancer and rectal prolapse.

Dr Chew has published 21 peer-reviewed journal articles and two book chapters. He is also fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Hokkien.

Dr Kim LohmBBS (hons), FraCS

general and Colorectal Surgeon

Dr Kim Loh obtained his undergraduate medical degree with honours in 1997 from the University of Sydney. He went on to undertake surgical training and successfully completed and obtained his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2006. He was appointed as the Surgical Superintendent at Westmead Hospital in 2006. Since 2007, he has held Visiting Medical Officer positions at Blacktown, Mt Druitt, Norwest Private and Westmead Private Hospitals.

Dr Loh is a highly experienced General and Laparoscopic Surgeon and has a special interest in colorectal surgery. He has also received training in robotic surgery.

He is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and is qualified to perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr Loh is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

head & neck Surgeon

Dr Eva Wong is a Head & Neck Surgeon and Surgical Oncologist at Westmead Hospital. She is a staff specialist at The Crown Princess Mary Cancer Care Centre Westmead and a Visiting Medical Officer at Norwest Private, Westmead Private and Blacktown Hospitals. She also participates in the acute surgical and trauma care roster at Westmead and Blacktown Hospital.

Dr Wong graduated with Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1994 and underwent Oral and Maxillofacial training in 1996. She completed her medical training in 2002 and undertook general surgical training in Westmead Hospital. Post fellowship, Dr Wong trained in the Head & Neck, Surgical Oncology Unit at Westmead Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital.

Dr Wong completed a Fellowship in the Sarcoma and Melanoma unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital, London where she acquired experience in the management of limb and retroperitoneal sarcoma. She was also trained in isolated limb perfusion for patients with advanced limb malignancy.

Dr Wong has a special interest in the management of Head and Neck malignancy, in particular advanced and metastatic skin cancer, dentoalveolar and oropharyngeal pathology, thyroid, parathyroid and salivary gland neoplasm.

Dr Wong is fluent in English and Cantonese.

Dr Tony PangBSc(med), mBBS (hons), mBiostat mS, FraCS

Pancreatic and hepatobiliary Surgeon

Dr Tony Pang is a Pancreatic and Hepatobiliary Surgeon with a special interest in minimal invasive surgery.

He graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2004 and undertook surgical training at Royal North Shore Hospital. He then completed further training in pancreatic and hepatobiliary surgery under the highly competitive post-fellowship training program of the ANZHPBA (Australia New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association). He spent this training period at Westmead Hospital in Sydney and Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore. During this time, he acquired experience in open and minimally invasive techniques in pancreatic and liver surgery, including laparoscopic Whipple procedure.

Dr Pang is a Staff Specialist at Westmead Hospital and a Visiting Medical Officer at Norwest Private Hospital.

Dr Pang’s research interests relate mainly to the treatment of liver, pancreatic and biliary disorders. He has published 25 peer-reviewed journal articles and presented at many national and international conferences.

Dr Pang also has a strong belief in helping others in need and in 2014 was a volunteer surgeon with Mercy Ships in the Congo and was also an instructor at a volunteer initiative to help surgeons and trainees develop laparoscopic skills in Sri Lanka.

Dr Pang is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
