Meredith College Student Private Studio Internship Evaluation Name: Marianna Blizzard For: Modern I When: March 13,2013 By: Dr. Shapiro Planning Clear preparation for their activities to focus on plié for their handstands. Clear warmup combinations preparing them for larger movements across the floor. How can you add more combination work and possible composition time using what you have taught and the concept that you a focusing on for the day.? For example; take two across the floor combinations we have learned and put them together any way and add one handstand creating 16 counts. Think of your "prior knowledge" section more specifically. If your focus is on handstands, how much or what experience have they had in learning this technique?

Teaching Clear map provided at the beginning of class with energy and focus for the day's class. Here is what I want you to think about today..... Good use of inquiry approach to teaching again, asking students questions for them to think about what they are doing. Try to move around the room more leaving the front position so you can observe students from different parts of the room and provide feedback and corrections. You are clear in what you are asking students to do. Clear answers to questions clarifying movements. Evaluation of students

Again if students know the warmup you can use this time to observe and provide corrections. You can just call out the combination as needed. Remember that you are no longer the student taking class but the teacher. You should take class for yourself at another time where you can enjoy being the student and dancer. Be sure to make eye contact with students when you provide instruction and feedback. Find ways to provide construct and individual feedback to all students in class when possible. Other Good class. You have a good sense of yourself as the teacher. Think about how it is that we do technique classes so we can dance so always keep in mind why it is that we are teaching what we are teaching. What is it's purpose in terms of helping us to be better dancers? How can yo make your class connect making it progress throughout class rather than a series of exercises?
