In my work as an IT-lawyer, although based in Sweden, I encounter situations concerning international law almost on a daily basis. Even if a client operates solely on a national level, we must often consider various aspects of EC Law when giving legal advice.

Many of our clients are multinational corporations with business operations all over the world. Regarding these clients - aside from international law - there is a rapidly growing need for legal expertise within IT-law (legally secure international trade over secure network solutions).

The main thing is to listen to understand the game and play it along with the needs and behavior of the customer (again!!!)They pay - you need them, but there is always another one offering a corresponding (most often a better) product/service. You must act more and professional compared to your competitors. By the way, how to exceed the expectations of your customers should a conflict occur? Never let a formalistic lawyer use muscles against your best salesmen - the satisfied customer!

4. It is a process of networking, relationship building as well as growing complexity. As Jaques Atali in France says it is a world growth without order, only chaos. And add to that what Dee W. Globalization is yet in its initial stage as I see it. As unions such as the EU grow and start incorporating what used to be looked upon as "development countries" as fully worthy member states (Eastern Europe, the Baltic states etc.), globalization will boost and - in its wake - so will development within International Trade Law. I'm convinced that e-commerce will highly affect this development wherefore development within IT Law probably will be of equal interest to monitor in the future.

Globalization is a broad issue but one aspect is differences in wages and working conditions which will move production from Western Europe to China, Taiwan or Eastern Europe or from the US to Asia

It is there and will stay for a while. In the long run. But sometimes i wonder - everybody wants money for his work and not only be the exploited citizen of a development country. And the one who has become unemployed in the so called developed parts of the world and earlier made his income on the same production, might not have the money to buy said goods any longer!? God knows how it will end! The only sure thing is that the one who follows in any one's footsteps will never come first or prevail!
