The perfect location

Wherever you’re from, at Henley Business School you will find yourself part of a supportive and friendly community.

You’ll find all the academic facilities you will need on our beautiful campus, including the University Library and the Graduate School – with specific study space for postgraduate students.

You’ll also be able to enjoy an excellent range of social and support facilities to help you make the most of your time with us. The Graduate School is the social hub for all postgraduate students, but there are also many other opportunities to get involved in university life and meet new people: through the range of sports clubs and societies, volunteer work or events on campus such as film screenings at the Reading Film Theatre, and regular music events.

An exciting learning environment

Our campus is home to two state of the art buildings. Opened in 2009, the £25 million business school is one of the newest and most visually impressive buildings on campus. It houses a 250-seat conference-standard lecture theatre, seminar rooms equipped with the latest technology, dedicated research space, a popular café and visitor area and the Academic Resource Centre.

Right next door is the ICMA Centre, home to our Masters programmes in finance. It houses three state-of-the-art dealing rooms equipped with more than 100 Thomson Reuters supplied terminals. We were the first business school in Europe to introduce dealing rooms and remain the only university with a facility on such a scale. The Centre offers two further conference-standard lecture theatres, high-quality seminar rooms, meeting areas and two café bars for students and visitors.

The Academic Resource Centre (ARC) – focused learning

Exclusively for the use of students in the business school, the ARC provides an ideal place for private and group study and easy access to specialist publications, journals and reports, electronic databases and resources, as well as photocopying and printing facilities.

The main library – your essential resource

Our main library is right at the centre of campus, and in summer 2013 it underwent a major refurbishment. It currently houses over 1.3 million volumes. You’ll find silent study areas, group study rooms, PC suites and a popular café for when you need a well-deserved break.

Outstanding IT facilities

Extensive PC facilities and wireless internet connections are available across the whole campus. Email and file storage services are provided to all students and can be accessed from anywhere, including via mobile devices, so you can study where and when it suits you. In addition, interactive online tools including Blackboard provide you with extensive learning materials throughout your studies.

Ideally located: for the town, for the countryside, for the UK … and beyond

Whether you prefer a campus or a city location for your studies, Reading provides the best of both worlds. Set in beautiful parkland, the university sits right on the edge of a vibrant city offering some of the best retail and entertainment experiences in the UK.

You couldn’t be better situated for travelling here, going home, visiting friends around the UK or exploring the capital and surrounding region. London is just 25 minutes away by train, and there are direct links with both London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports. You can also get direct trains from Reading to cities across the UK.

Reading sits between Windsor and Oxford. If you prefer the countryside to city life then there are plenty of attractive riverside towns and villages to discover along the beautiful Thames Valley, as well as country walks in the local Chiltern Hills.

Relax in Reading

Everyone has different interests, different ways of unwinding and spending their free time. That’s what’s great about Reading; there’s something for everyone and always a choice of things to do. Campus and town are so close to each other you’ll easily be able to enjoy the best of both. The Oracle Shopping Centre is at the heart of the town with over 80 shops, a wide-range of bars and restaurants and a 10-screen multiplex cinema. Its lively riverside setting is ideal for relaxing.

Reading enjoys a vibrant music scene with many venues offering live music throughout the week and of course hosting the world-famous Reading Festival every year. The town’s popular nightlife offers you everything from rock nights to global music and salsa dancing, comedy nights to theatre.
