Planting & Growing

Double Flowered Japanese Kerria will grow to be about 7feet tall at maturity, with a spread of 6 feet. It tends to bea little leggy, with a typical clearance of 1 foot from theground, and is suitable for planting under power lines. Itgrows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions canbe expected to live for 40 years or more.

This shrub performs well in both full sun and full shade. Itdoes best in average to evenly moist conditions, but willnot tolerate standing water. It is not particular as to soiltype or pH. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and willeven thrive in inner city environments. This is a selectedvariety of a species not originally from North America.
