Double degree programme EU – South Korea
allows students to earn two degrees: the degree of their home institution and the degree of the partner school

Culture Executive Agency) of the European Commission (for the European students) and by the Ministry of Education of Korea (for the Korean students)
MEPP + MAES students with or withoutEU citizenship
NOTE:students without EU citizenship: can also
apply BUT they will not receive the EU scholarship, nor travel grant
By sending: • CV• motivation letter (in which you state clearly for which MA
programme at which Korean partner university you would liketo apply)*
• research plan for thesis• transcript of records of 2 most recently finished semesters

Requirement: be prepared to take care yourself of the administrative steps requiredby the host institution
4 consortium partners:• 2 EU (KU Leuven + ESSEC)• 2 Korea (KDI + SNU)
GLiMPSE trajectory involves a short or long-term stay at the other partners:• Concrete for KU Leuven MEPP/MAES students: 1 year of study at KDI or SNU + optional some courses
at the other Korean institution 2 weeks of intense courses at ESSEC (2 times 1 week)
Students choose 2 one-week courses • early October/early January/end of February/mid April OR3 week summer school

NOTE: European students must cover their travel and living expenses for the short-term programNOTE: Preferably European students fulfill this part of the GLiMPSEprogramme before their departure to Korea.

In the double degree programme you have to complete MA theses:• One within MEPP/MAES programme• One within the GSIS MA programme (not required at
KDI School) You can continue to work on the
same/related topic • Eg by expanding the topic of your MEPP/MAES
thesis into a comparative study with more cases• Eg deepening (part of) the analysis you made in
your MEPP/MAES thesis
The study programmes at the Koreanpartner institutions are FULLY in ENGLISH
The student body of these MA programmes at the Korean partnersinstitutions is very internationallydiverse.
You can study Korean language duringyour stay in Korea (obligatory at KDI School)
Seoul National University:• Large, green campus in Seoul• Approx. 30-40 min. by taxi/metro to city center of Seoul• Accommodation on campus: can you apply but it is not guaranteed
KDI School:• Brand new campus in completely new city Sejong• Approx. 2 hours from Seoul• Accommodation on the campus (single rooms or twin rooms)
