48 New Train Cars
Contract Amount: PHP 3,759,382,400.00
Procurement Status: Contract signed in February 2014
Timeline: Prototype for testing in August 2015Completion: 3-4 LRVs to be delivered monthly beginning in
September 2015 until end of 2016.
Project:48 brand new cars are
in the production process.This is the real solution to long
lines and over congestion,
increase capacity by 66% and
will improve headway to 2.5
minutes.

Automatic Fare Collection System
Contract Amount: No government expenditure; Premium payment
of PHP 1,088,103,900.00 to government
Procurement Status: Concession Agreement signed March 2014Timeline: Implementation Ongoing
Completion: September 2015 for all three lines
Project:A tap-and-go ticketing
system to unify LRT-1, LRT-2,and MRT-3 for passenger
convenience. This will lessen
queuing time for tickets and
allow seamless transfers
between lines.
