Federation Headteacher: Mrs H Wheatcroft
Dear Parents,
A really lovely week at Rickling!
Beech went to Cadbury World, Acorn class had a fantastic Welly Wednesday, Oak class have been learning through The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch. Maple class have been preparing for their play 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and I had the pleasure of auditioning the children for their parts. Our sister school Farnham had their Ofsted inspection, which was a wonderful chance to show off the lovely school that Farnham is.
We learnt about 'Love' in Collective Worship and in particular the ways in which we can live out the value of Love in our lives at Rickling.
The scrap for our Playpod is delivered on Monday and we will have a launch afternoon for the children. We can't wait!
Next Friday we say goodbye to Miss Thompson, our wonderful trainee teacher, who has been working with Mrs Snelling in Beech class. We wish her luck in her future career.
Have a lovely and restful weekend,
Kind regards,
Hannah Wheatcroft

Big Little Planet Week
This is a week where children in each class study a different country and immerse themselves in a different culture. They may learn about the different faiths, geography, history, food, arts and investigate any other important issues linked to the area. At the end of the week, both schools met up for a musical extravaganza and fed back on all they have learned, so making us all better global neighbours.

Beech Class ~ Cadbury World visit
Our School Values: Love | Respect | Honesty | Kindness | Caring
Beech Class had a lovely visit to Cadbury World. The first activity was a talk about the rainforest where we even got to smell a cacao bean. Next we went in an elevator with a bird that was slightly mischievous. On the ground floor there was a 4D adventure with 3D glasses on; it really felt like you were on a roller coaster at times!! After lunch, we enjoyed a tour which started in the rainforest, looking at the Aztecs and the people who encountered the tribe. We then were given liquid chocolate to write our names as well as the chance to temper the chocolate. In advertising alley we saw a series of advertisements by Cad-burys. Who remembers the gorilla? There was a trip through Cadbury World in a small car on a monorail. Finally, the part we had waited for! The chocolate tast-ing! There was a selection of toppings... The final section was the interactive games at the end. We returned very tired after visiting a number of service sta-tions along the way! Well done Beech! Thank you also to Mrs Gemmill and Ms Fogarty for coming with us.
