OVERVIEW

training collars give you theability to communicate with your dog in atimely manner even when the dog is at adistance from you. This makes it much easierfor the dog to learn its lessons because latecorrections are very confusing to the dog.

remote collarsoffer three different kinds of stimulation:

Pressing the “Nick” button causes a veryshort single pulse of electrical stimulation. Itautomatically shuts off in a fraction of asecond, no matter how long the button is helddown.

The “Nick” is used as a substitute for leashcorrections when the dog is off lead. It is mild but motivating!

OVERVIEW Pressing the “Constant” button causes thecollar to emit electrical stimulation that stayson for up to twelve seconds as long as thebutton is held down. “Constant” stimulation isused for low level applications for guidingdogs into the desired behavior or as a reservehigh to stop unsafe behaviors such as chasinganimals or cars.

Pressing the Pager button causes thedog s collar to vibrate like a phone pager. Itallows you to train with a non-electrical typestimulation. It’s a great attention-getter.

All collars come complete witha handheld transmitter, dog collar withreceiver, battery charger and owner’s manual.

OPERATING

Fitting the collar

The collar strap should be adjusted so that thecontact points are held firmly against the dog’sskin. If the collar is too loose, it can causeirritation from the contacts rubbing against theskin.

If the dog has a heavy coat, move the receiverup and down to work the contact points downinto the coat.

ATTENTION!

Avoid having the dog wear the collar withthe contact points in the same place for morethan two hours at a time. Leaving the pointson the same spot for extended periods of timecan cause skin irritation. If the dog is to wearthe e-collar for long periods, occasionallyreposition the collar so that the contact pointsare moved to a different spot on the dog’sneck.

OPERATING

Intensity selection

To select the intensity level, start on zerosetting. Gradually increase the level until you geta response from the dog that would be equivalentto a quick pull or jerk with a leash.

Remember that you will need to adjust thesetting (upward or downward) as the dog’sattitude changes, especially during times ofincreased excitement or distraction.

Intermittent use of the Pager (3 secondintervals) will extend the units battery lifebetween charges.

Prolonged use of the Pager (12 senconds orlonger) will drain the batteries faster.
