Docklands Mobility Map Access and facilities for people with limited mobility How to use this map This map is designed to help people with limited mobility access Dockland’s precincts safely and with ease. It shows you where to find accessible toilets, parking bays, accessible venue entry and exit points and other helpful visitor information. Getting to Docklands By tram – Catch the Yarra River Shuttle Service to Docklands or take one of the city’s trams: City Circle (free tourist tram); No. 30 via Latrobe Street; No. 31 via Collins Street; No. 48 and No. 70 via Flinders Street; and No. 86 via Bourke Street. Free Tram Zone – The Free Tram Zone includes Docklands and Melbourne’s central city. If your tram travel starts and finishes within the Free Tram Zone, your journey will be free and you won’t need to use a myki card. If your tram travel starts or finishes outside of the Free Tram Zone, you will need to touch on and off with a valid myki card. Low floor trams – To check the availability of low level tams on tram routes, contact Yarra Trams on 1800 800 007 or visit yarratrams.com.au The Yarra Trams tramTRACKER app also includes information about availability and location of low floor trams. By train – Take the train to Southern Cross Station, exit at the northern end to walk over the Bourke Street Pedestrian Bridge to Harbour Esplanade. You can also exit the station on the corner of Spencer and Collins streets and walk over the Collins Street Bridge to Docklands Park. Mobility equipment hire is available for pick and drop off at Southern Cross and Flinders Street stations. For more information visit changingplaces.org.au Public telephones Telstra’s Teletypewriter (TTY) payphones enable people who are deaf or have a communication impairment to stay in touch when out and about. Around 170 Telstra payphones have been modified to include a teletypewriter facility. Batman’s Hill Map Ref L9Batman’s Hill is one of the main gateways connecting Melbourne central city with Docklands and is home to business and commercial spaces.

Please note the gradient of Collins Street may create access challenges for some people with limited mobility.

NewQuay Map Ref G4NewQuay is a bustling village next to Waterfront City with a mix of stylish restaurants, cafes and bars along the promenade.

How to get there•Ferries and water taxis operate to and from

NewQuay. Public and private berths are alsolocated at the marina.

•Pedestrian access from the HarbourEsplanade promenade and from AquitaniaWay, Caravel Lane, Docklands Drive andRakaia Way.

Stadium Precinct Map Ref K5Etihad StadiumOne of Melbourne’s premier sports and entertainment venues, Etihad Stadium seats 50,000 people and o� ers dining and bar facilities.

Please note the gradient of Latrobe Street and ramped path from Latrobe Street into the Etihad Stadium may create access challenges for some people with limited mobility. Lift and stair access to the stadium level is available from Bourke Street and Harbour Esplanade.

Southern Cross Station Map Ref N5Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station is a historical world-class train and coach gateway with state-of-the-art transport facilities, cafes and shopping outlets.

How to get there•Pedestrians can access Southern Cross

station using dedicated road crossing pointsfrom Collins and Spencer streets.

•The Bourke Street Walkway is also availablefor those coming directly from Docklands.

•Vehicle access is available at the back of thestation from Wurrundjeri Way.

Additional InformationPlease note the gradient of Collins Street may create access challenges for some people with limited mobility. Lift, escalator and stair access is available throughout Southern Cross Station. Tactile ground indicators are also in place to support people who are blind or vision impaired.

Mobility equipment is available for hire inside Southern Cross Station as well as other assistance including free buggy transport, manual wheelchair access and personal guidance service. Yarra’s Edge Map Ref F11Located along the Yarra River, Yarra’s Edge o� ers stunning parklands, shopping andcommunity barbecue facilities for you toenjoy in the heart of the city.

Charles Grimes Bridge and Webb Bridge.

YMCA Docklands The YMCA o� ers leisure and recreation activities as well as support programs to provide access to members who need assistance or carers who support a person with a disability.

YMCA Docklands on Collins is located in Shop 2P at the ANZ Centre, 833 Collins Street, Docklands (see map ref K9). For more information phone 03 8621 8300.

The DockSituated on the waterfront of Victoria Harbour, The Dock is one of Melbourne’s cultural community precincts.

Encompassing both indoor facilities and outdoor spaces, The Dock features a state-of-the-art library and community centre (Library at the Dock – see map ref F9).

Right next door there is a family services centre, a boating hub (home to Docklands Yacht Club, Victorian Dragon Boat Association and Melbourne Outrigger Canoe Club) and multi-purpose community space (Community Hub at the Dock – map ref E9). Outside, Buluk Park and playground fronts one side while water views extend out to the other.
