4. First Aid Measures

Health Effects:

Acute – Swallowed: Considered an unlikely route of entry in commercial/industrial environments.

Ingestion may result in nausea, abdominal irritation, pain and vomiting

Acute – Eye: The liquid may produce eye discomfort causing smarting, pain and redness.

Acute – Skin:

Not considered an irritant through normal use.

Found to be a non-sensitiser through RIPT testing.

Open cuts, abraded or irritated skin should not be exposed to this material.

Discontinue use if irritation occurs

Acute – Inhaled: Not normally a hazard due to non-volatile nature of product.

Chronic:

Principal routes of exposure are usually by skin contact and eye contact.

The product is considered to be non-harmful by all exposure routes when used in accordance with directions.

First Aid:

Swallowed:

- Do not induce vomiting. - If vomiting occurs, lean patient forward or place on left side (head-down

position, if possible) to maintain open airway and prevent aspiration. - Observe the patient carefully. - Never give liquid to a person showing signs of being sleepy or with reduced

awareness; i.e. becoming unconscious. - Give water to rinse out mouth, then provide liquid slowly and as much as

casualty can comfortably drink. - Seek medical advice.

Eye:

If this product comes in contact with the eyes:

- Wash out immediately with fresh running water. - Ensure complete irrigation of the eye by keeping eyelids apart and away from

eye and moving the eyelids by occasionally lifting the upper and lower lids. - Seek medical attention without delay; if pain persists or recurs seek medical

attention.

Skin: - Not considered an irritant through normal use. - Wipe off excess with absorbent tissue or towel. - Seek medical attention if irritation occurs.

Inhaled: - If fumes, aerosols or combustion products are inhaled remove from

contaminated area. - Other measures are usually unnecessary.
