Before and After CampMorning: 7:30 – 9 a.m. | Afternoon: 4 – 5:30 p.m.$9.75 per session, per day. Optional before and after camp sessions are available for busy parents and guardians. Transportation provided between the nature center and any camps at Tony Schmidt. Care is not available between the half-day Sprouts and Critters camps.

Camp weeks are four days long and filled with activities, games, laughter and of course – nature! All of our camps are naturalist-led and get kids active in the outdoors. Advanced registration is required. Scholarships are available, please call for details.

Ages 3 - entering Kindergarten. Children must be potty-trained.Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. - noon. $25/day. Registration is by day, register for as many as you’d like! Lunch Bunch is offered from noon-12:30 p.m. for Backyard Bunch partici-pants only.

Each day offers new, open-ended play activities.

Sticks & Stones June 19, 20, 21 | July 24, 25,26Use sticks to build big forts, small fairy houses and everything in between.

Animal Play June 26, 27, 28 | August 7, 8, 9Run like a wolf, jump like a deer, hop like a frog or fly like a butterfly. Test your skills on the animal obstacle course.

STEAM July 17, 18, 19 | August 14, 15, 16When kids, nature and science mix, there’s magic. Use all your senses and creativty to discover the things we can do in and with nature.

Nature-scape Watercolors July 13 Practice watercolor techniques in the garden, then hike to find the perfect spot to create amazing paintings based on what you see around you.

Pioneer Play July 20 How did kids play before technology? They played made-up games! Make games, play games and bring home a new game you created.

Wild Weaving July 27 Go wild as you twist, spin and weave with fibers and yarn, just like nature’s weavers - birds and spiders!

Turtles & Company August 3 Who is cold-blooded, lays eggs and has a body covered in scales or slime? A herp! Learn about these animals and meet Tamarack’s resident herps.

Phenomenal Paper Creations August 10Learn to make paper pulp, sculpt it and combine it with natural leaves and flowers to make one-of-a-kind paper!

AdmissionDiscovery Hollow is FREE for individuals and small family groups.

Organized GroupsWe require organized groups to register in advance for their time at Discovery Hollow. Groups with 13 or more kids will pay a special use permit fee based on group size.

Family & Friends FridaysFamilies are always welcome in Discovery Hollow, but we set aside Fridays for small groups and families to enjoy the area without the hustle and bustle of large organized groups!

Discovery Hollow and Garden Nature Play

Online RegistrationTamarackNatureCenter.orgFull payment is due upon registration. Program fees are not refundable. A full refund will be issued if a program must be cancelled by Tamarack Nature Center.

Day Camp Cancellation PolicyAll cancellations and transfers must be made at least two weeks before the start of camp. Registration fee will be refunded, minus a 20 percent fee. Transfers may be requested for $10. A full refund will be issued if a program must be cancelled by Tamarack Nature Center.

Media Policy Ramsey County Parks & Recreation periodically takes photos and videos of program participants. If you would like to request that you or your child not be photographed, call 651-407-5350.
