Directions to apartment from Malaga Airport

There are TWO routes to the apartment; the old N340 and the new A7/E15 – You want the NEW route – A7/E15 which is a motorway whereas the N340 is a bumpy old ‘A’ road.

Check your petrol/diesel level as they are inclined to leave rental cars with empty tanks! If you have a low tank don’t panic you will see a petrol station on the way. Leave Malaga airport and immediately follow sign to Cadiz (E15) – you will be heading WEST. Follow road over one roundabout, keep going and you will see the big San Miguel beer factory on the right. The road forks (keep to the RIGHT lane) and follow signs saying A7/E15 Algeciras. DO NOT go over the flyover! Follow round to the right and proceed along road until you reach a BMW/Mini garage also on the right. Again bear right here following the A7/E15 sign to Algeciras/Cadiz – (if you carried on you would go into Fuengirola/Torremolinos). After this turnoff you will be on the A7/E15 Motorway. You’ll be driving about 52 km along this motorway and the exit numbers will be decreasing as you proceed (Exit 232, 231, 230 and so on) - You stay on this road until after about 35 kms you’ll reach a toll (Cost varies seasonally 5-7 Euros). Pay and go through the Toll and keep going and you’ll be looking for exit 181b (NOT 182 or 181)

Take exit 181b signposted ‘Nagueles’, (total distance travelled 51.7km). Go up to the roundabout at the top where you take the 9 O’clock exit. Follow down to the very bottom of the hill (you will see Senorio to your right) then turn right – up the hill to the top and you will see the main entrance to your right.

Drive up to the main gates (photo below) and press the intercom and give the guard your name (he will be expecting you).

Drive in, round corner until you see the guard’s office. Collect the keys and the guard will direct you where to park closest to the apartment so you can upload your luggage (you want the rear entrance shown below)

Drive in the rear entrance (use left hand button on remote) and park up.

Walk along the path parallel to the road for about 40 yards and you’ll see a wall plaque on your left called ‘Las Ranas’ and a number 7.

Go up the steps one level and you’ll see our front door with a ceramic ‘D’ beside it.

Going to Puerto Banus from apartment (West) Go down road and at bottom, take sign towards Estepona. Puerto Banus is on the way to Estepona. Proceed about 1.5 miles and you will see the sign for Puerto Banus whereby you veer right, down to a roundabout where you turn left down to the port road. Go over a couple of mini roundabouts down to the main roundabout at the bottom where there is a huge statue of Banus. Turn right and keep going to the next roundabout where you turn right, up that road until you see the ‘P’ sign on you left. You have to double back on yourselves to get into that car park because it’s on the other side of the road. Park up then walk up the stairs, cross the road and walk to the port. A great and very popular restaurant is called Picasso. You will have to queue but it’s worth it because the food is very nice and reasonable priced. It’s really buzzing there and has a great atmosphere. Going to Marbella from apartment (East) Go down road and at bottom, DO NOT take sign towards Estepona, instead bear right past this sign along to the end then turn left over the bridge which crosses the road. At the roundabout at the end of the bridge turn left (last exit) and follow the sign to Marbella. Its about 1.5 miles. Well into Marbella turn RIGHT where you see the ‘P’ sign and park up. Be sure to visit Orange square for lunch if the weather is nice – It’s a lovely square with..you guessed it; orange trees all around you. Going to Nearest Supermarket from apartment (East) The nearest supermarket is called SuperSol and is 1.5km on the way to Marbella. Go down road and at bottom, DO NOT take sign towards Estepona, instead bear right past this sign along to the end then turn left over the bridge which crosses the road. At the roundabout at the end of the bridge turn left (last exit) and follow the sign to Marbella. Supersol is 1.5 km on LEFT hand side but you’ll be on the wrong side of the road so you have to drive past it about 0.5km and use the turnpike by Gvadalpin Hotel to get across to the other side. Supersol is mega cheap and sells everything. You’ll need a 1 euro coin for the trolley!
