Students will also need the black and white game pieces cut up. 2. Show students how to use the paper clip as the arrow for the spinner: Take the paper clip and slide it onto a pencil. Then hold the pencil upright with the tip in the center of the spinner. Flick the clip to make it spin around the pencil. 3. Review the instructions on the game mat before letting students play the game on their own. Extension: After students play the game, place it in a learning center. Simply take a game mat and glue it onto posterboard or inside a file folder. Place a pencil, paper clip and game pieces into a resealable plastic bag. Put the materials in a center so students can play the game when they finish other assignments! Addition DIRECTIONS 1) Take turns spinning to select two numbers.
