Programme Contents • Vocational Safety Training for Cruise Services • Fire Safety Training for Cruise Services • Cruise Operations • Workplace Practices* This programme equips students with the cruise operations knowledge and the competences fulfilling the training requirements stipulated by the International Maritime Organization, so as to enable them to serve on board luxurious cruise ships. Graduates may serve on-board cruise ships in different departments including (but not limited to) Food & Beverage, Entertainment, Shop, Guest Services, Galley, etc. Enquiries T: 2458 3833 W: http://www.msti.edu.hk/ 海事訓練學院 Maritime Services Training Institute Programme Aim Programme under Engineering Training Subsidy Scheme Duration: 6 months (including 189 contact hours and 26 weeks Workplace Practices) [EG423702P] Diploma in Cruise Operations Career Prospects HK$8,800* Programme Fee and Financial Subsidy • Completion of S6 under the new academic structure with HKDSE English at Level 1 or above; or equivalent, with work experience* or currently employed; or • Completion of S5 under the old academic structure with HKCEE English Language (“Syllabus B” before 2007) at Level 1 / Grade For above; or equivalent, with work experience* or currently employed. Entry Requirements *Students without work experience may be employed to take up day-time customer-services related jobs prior to joining the programme. *Students are required to pay a tuition fee of HK$22,000. Since successful applicants for Engineering Training Subsidy Scheme (ETSS) will be refunded 60% of the tuition fee (i.e. HK$13,200), subject to a maximum of HK$45,000 per person, the actual tuition fee can be deducted to HK$8,800. *Students with more than 6 months relevant work experience can apply for exemption.
