  • IntroductionWith Diplexers in Antenna Line, GSM1800 and UMTS2100 can share one common Antenna and RF feeders & thereby reduce Load on the Tower. Diplexers are cost effective solution for network deployment.Diplexers introduce a low Insertion Loss of 0.15 0.2 dB (typical), 0.3 0.4 dB (Max).Microdata Diplexers weigh 2.0 to 2.3 Kgs based on the frequency band. Filters (Diplexers, Triplexers & Quadruplexers) are used in OD/ID, IBS / DAS applications where two or more BTS Systems in Bands 2G, 3G , 4G are colocated on/in the same Tower, Shelter or BTS Site OD / ID

    Antenna and Feeder Sharing By using DiplexersAntenna and Feeder Cable can be shared by 1800 and 2100 MHz bands. 3nos of additional antenna and Feeder Cables along with accessories like clamps, earthing kits etc can be saved .Antenna Sharing in 1800M+2100M scenario : One 2 Port Wideband Antenna instead of 4 Port Antenna Approx Rs. 30K saving per site towards additional antenna systemTower loading : Tower loading shall reduce due to saving on additional antenna and feeder cables.

  • RecommendationsMicrodata Diplexers can be used wherever we have space constraint for installing the additional antenna system for installing new 3G Sites in our 3G Circles having GSM in 1800 or 900+1800 Band.Installing Diplexers can save ~ 40 to 60% Capex on the requirement for additional Feeder Line and Antenna for 3GMicrodata Diplexer has negligible impact on the KPIs and Drive Test observations made pre and post Diplexer implementation.
