The Outreach Office has been providing services to hundreds of families suffering from levels of poverty they have never encountered before. We are very grateful to the donors, our partner agencies and parishes, seminarians who volunteered, and all the supporters who have kept the services running smoothly. We are excited to share with you that a contract has been signed to begin the new Outreach Services Office. In order to prepare for the transition to the new building, the Outreach Office will be closed during the month of August. This will give us time to sort, pack and prepare for the move. We look forward to announcing the groundbreaking ceremony in the near future!

La Oficina de Servicios Sociales ha estado proporcionando servicios a cientos de familias que sufren niveles de pobreza que nunca antes habían enfrentado. St. John School Mass

The St. John School Mass will be on Wednesday every week, beginning August 19, 2020. Current guidelines require us to close any Masses with the student body to the public. Therefore, we regret that we will not be able to permit adults to enter the Church for the Wednesday Mass.

On First Fridays, the school children will not attend Mass in the Church as they have done in the past; they will attend virtually via the internet.

Safe Environment ReminderRenewal deadline August 31, 2020

If you have not attended a Virtus awareness session, Protecting God’s Children for Adults, it must be taken before 08/31/2020. This deadline applies even if the old Safe Environment course, Safe and Sacred, shows it does not expire until after 08/31/2020. There is no Safe Environment “grace period” for volunteers or employees. You must always be current with all aspects of Safe Environment in order to volunteer.

To volunteer, you must:● Register for and attend an Awareness Session at a location of your choosing every two years. Due to COVID-19, Zoom classes are

currently being offered in addition to in-person classes● Complete a Volunteer Application Packet● Have a current background check on file● Have a current driving/credit check on file if you drive or handle money (respectively) for your ministry● If you are a new volunteer, you will not be able to volunteer until your references have returned the reference letters for you.

Food Pantry

Due to recent staff changes and the ongoing need to maintain COVID-19 protocols, the Food Pantry is closed during the month of August, and we will send a Flocknote message as soon as we have a date to re-open.

In the meantime, you can bring non-perishable items to the Parish Office where they will be stored until the Food Pantry re-opens.

● Non-perishable items can be left outside glass doors on the north side of the building.● Cash and gift cards can be placed in an envelope with “Food Pantry” noted on the front, and placed in a mail slot near the front

doors.

Please do not leave perishable items outside the Administration Building.
