DIGITAL, DATA & ANALYTICS MARKETING INTERNSHIP MARKETING – MEMORIAL UNION Paid Student Position: $10.00 / hour (undergrad or grad. students are eligible) Hours per week: 8-10 during academic year; additional hours available during summer and breaks. Job length: Ongoing—2017 & 2018 academic years with potential for continuation through summer and beyond. Work schedule: Between 8:30-5:00, Monday-Friday. The Wisconsin Union seeks an energetic, detail-oriented, flexible and reliable student with excellent computer problem solving, data analysis, writing, and project management skills. As the digital, data, and analytics intern, you will work closely with Union marketing staff to evaluate & operate union.wisc.edu, Google Analytics, and our digital strategy. You will create standard monthly reports, draw conclusions and make recommendations to adjust marketing strategy based on customer behavior data. Essentially, you will create capacity for the Union to better understand our position relative to our mission and those we serve. Job Duties: Establish Google Analytics foundations, run digital marketing analysis and monthly reports, troubleshoot tracking code, etc. Implement Google Adwords strategy, set-up new campaigns as needed, create reports Act as a Google Analytics “expert” resource for marketing office staff Conduct research on digital marketing developments, products, methods and software as needed Help create and influence the Union’s overall digital marketing strategy Make recommendations to marketing team for digital campaign development/enhancement Writing and special projects as interest and department needs indicate Required Skills: Willingness and ability to act as a digital marketing problem solver, with minimal supervision. Goal-oriented and solution-motivated. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as knowledge and interest in journalism, marketing and/or promotions with a strong attention to detail. Advanced computer skills & experience with content management systems, and basic digital marketing media. Experience using Google drive and Microsoft Office. Experience with Google Analytics, Google AdWords Display & Remarketing. Excellent customer service and organizational skills, ability to think and work independently, and excellent judgment/problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn and ability to take direction, but be able to work independently as needed.
