Definition: copying files from the internet to your personal device.

An example of downloading would be downloading music from your laptop that you got from the internet and putting them onto your iPhone. If you downloaded a song from a website by your favorite artist and you didn’t pay for it, it is illegal because your technically stealing it.

Definition: Fake emails or webpages used to collect personal information; usually steal your property.

Examples: when you get emails online that ask you for your credit card information… companies never ask you via email for credit card information.

If you give your credit card information to someone online they could take that information and buy things with it and you would be left paying a huge bill of things you didn’t even buy.
