January 2015 digital engagement workshop Context

Known issues with CCs’ use of the internet

CCLOs overloaded – CCs need to help themselves

Motivations

To make things better we need to understand the problems

Opportunity for CCs to meet face-to-face

Knowledge and skills are ‘out there’ but are not yet shared

  Seed a Community of Practice

Problems confirmed …but there is hope

Known issues •  Feeling of lack of support

•  Sources of help are patchy and slow

•  There is lack of succession planning

•  Cynicism, despondency and inaction

•  Issues with CC / CCLO relations

Some constructive discussion •  Delegates enthused - ‘The day CCs

were reborn!’

•  There’s a demand for a roadmap towards positive change

•  16-17-year-olds could be involved

•  Delegates appreciated speakers taking difficult questions!
