    Ideal/ Excellent (EX):

    -The light performance isexcellent. The lightentering the diamond isreflected back to the

    maximum.

    - A diamond with this cutwill be extremelybeautiful and rare.

    It is advisable to go for diamond with Ideal/ Excellent Cut.

    Diamond Cut.Cut is the symmetry, proportioning and polish of a diamond. .

    Very Good (VG):

    -It has very good lightperformance. It reflectsback almost all of thelight that enters the

    diamond.

    -Diamonds with VeryGood cuts are of outstanding value.

    Good:

    -Diamonds with Good' cuthave good lightperformance. They reflectmost of the light that

    enters but less thandiamonds with VeryGood' cut.

    -Good diamond cuts arefar less priced than VeryGood cuts.

    Fair:

    - These diamonds arenot as brilliant asdiamonds of Good cutsor above grade but still

    are considered as goodquality diamonds.

    Poor:

    - Diamonds cut either tooshallow or too deep causingmuch of the light to leak outof the diamond's sides and

    base are categorized asPoor' cut diamonds.

    K-M:

    Diamonds under this grade are of

    Faint Yellow color with the color beingnoticeable.

    Some diamondsin this range can bestunning andBeautiful.

    Diamond Color.

    N-Z:

    Diamonds in thisgrade range varies fromvery Light to LightYellow color.

    These diamonds arenot appropriate to beused as gemstones,unless one would like tohave a diamond with anamber color.

    Fancy Diamond' arecategorized into aseparate section knownas Z+

    D:

    They are 100%colorless.

    This is thehighest color grade a diamondcan obtain.

    D gradeddiamonds areextremely rareand veryexpensive.

    E, F:

    E-F graded diamondsare colorless andextremely transparent.

    It is tremendouslydifficult to detecttraces of color in thisgrade of diamond.

    These diamonds arealso rare andexpensive.

    G, H:

    They are practicallycolorless.

    Unless the diamondis compared with amaster stone of higher color grade, its color isnearly undetectable.

    These diamonds arerare, but slightly lessexpensive and areconsidered of a goodvalue.

    I, J:

    These gradediamonds are almostcolorless.

    The color in thesediamonds is slightlyvisible.

    The slight amountof color isunnoticeable by theunaided eye.

    These diamondsare of superior valueand less costly.

    It is advisable to go for diamond with least amount of color.

    Color means the transparency or colorlessness of a diamond.

    Flawless (FL) Diamonds:

    - No internal or external inclusions or blemishes.

    Internally Flawless (IF) Diamonds:

    - Slight or insignificant impurities,removable by polishing.

    - No internal flaw.

    It is advisable to go for diamond that does not have any inclusions.

    VVS1/ VVS2 Diamonds:

    - Very Very trivial inclusions or impurities hard to detect evenunder 10x magnifications bytrained professional.

    - The diamonds are rare, of excellent quality and equally

    expensive.

    VS1/ VS2 Diamonds:

    - Contains minor inclusions,detectable under 10xmagnification but invisible tonaked eyes.- Less expensive compared toabove mentioned grades.

    Sl1/ Sl2 Diamonds:

    - Such diamonds includeslight impurities easilyvisible under 10xmagnification .

    - At times visible tounaided eyes too.

    - Considered as goodquality and less costly.

    I1/I2/I3 Diamonds:

    -Diamonds comprising adequatenumber of inclusions clearly noticeableby the trained professionals & evenvisible to naked eyes.

    -These flaws may negatively affect thetransparency or brilliance of a

    diamond.

    Diamond Clarity.Clarity refers to the internal defects, impurities or blemishes present within a diamond.

    It is advisable to go for diamond according to the taste, budget & setting style.

    Diamond Carat.Carat refers to the unit denoting the weight of a diamond. 1 carat (1ct) is equal to 200 mg/ 0.2 grams.

    -The size of a diamond is proportional to the carat weight of a diamond.
