We rocked and rolled out a band entitled the Sun & Ski Supinators. emblazoned with guitars, drums, shorty shorts, longs songs and super hero capes the band featured songs that had the word “run” in the lyrics. race director’s felt like they were “running down A dream” because it was a tremendous enhancement to their events without any cost (we included sound as a part of the mix), participants felt Sun & Ski was “Born to run” because the music was amazing, and Sun & Ski loved it as it made their “Band on the run” the center of attention at events.

We took the strength of NBA action and blended it with the challenge of a small area to come up with a fun and exciting course. And we impressed runners from all over the world (not just lA and its suburbs, we are talking runners from Bulgaria, Italy, france and more), as they ran, walked and dribbled in the inaugural NBA All-Star fIt, run, Walk and dribble on figueroa in downtown lA.

We introduced the NBA fIt brand to the running community of los Angeles as well, created a staple event that the league can use year after year as a way to engage the local and global community during All-Star week.

Launch the inaugural 5K at the NBA All-Star Game as an opportunity to showcase NBA FIT’s commitment to fighting childhood obesity.

there are 10 hurdles you have to clear in the 110 meter race, we cleared them all! logistics can certainly be an issue when planning and coordinating a 3.1 mile race, given a short window of time and only .87 miles worth of road.

We broke the laws of physics by turning .87 miles worth of road in downtown Los Angeles into 3.1 miles!”

We rev’ed up the brand by positioning it as the Official Skin care line of the up and coming rev3 triathlon Series. talk about opening a brand new market and brand new customer! Over 90% of the consumers we spoke with had never heard of Jack Black, let alone the performance remedy collection. however 100% loved the idea and loved the product! Which was evident by the lines we had at the expo booth! We sampled, ran a sweepstakes and offered bounce backs from costa rica to portland resulting in record sales and increased brand awareness for Jack Black, and they didn’t even have to leave their office!

making a lasting impression is easy when your products are this good. trust us, we have been looking for sun block that when you sweat doesn’t drip into your eyes — yes that is an open endorsement for Jack Black Sun guard! But more importantly we are building the brand through a long term commitment to the active lifestyle community which includes partnerships with the Brooks Id program and other unique opportunities that set the brand apart. mention skin care products and which gender comes to mind? don’t worry, we know gail devers would buy some for her man! then throw in the brand name Jack Black and set up an expo booth at Bloomsday and people are in line for autographs. No, the actor Jack Black is not name behind these amazing products! But DFWRUNS is!

It is an analogy we use a lot when talking to new eveNt clients. Imagine walking down the cereal aisle at the grocery store. It is all cereal but how many different types are there? how did you pick one? Which brand is top of mind? Which offers the benefits you want? So we took the 13.1 message to the street. We focused on the amazing course (best in dfW is you ask us) and utilized our promotional pace leaders (ppl’s) to help spread the word. We hosted 13.1 social runs to introduce the brand and the event to the market on the 13th of each month, branded them up and entered them in the top running events in dfW and had them bragging about the race on their personal social media sites.

there is knock against some of the national event series that they come into a market, zap the energy out of the running community and really don’t give much back. With our lucky 13 ppl crew we employed local talent to spread the message. Which means we left a lasting impression with the tens of thousands or runners we reached, immediately positioned the 13.1 brand as powerhouse in the dfW running community and provided a scalable model for uS road Sports to utilize around the county. All while staying local!
