Reformation Herald Publishing Association is pleased to
pres-
ent our first devotional book compiled for the spiritual
enrichmentof believers everywhere, Fear Not, Little Flock.
Throughout Hisministry on earth, Christ made it clear that His
faithful peoplewould not be great in number, but rather would be
those whosehearts were touched to follow Him in meekness, as the
timid sheeptrusts in her strong, beloved shepherd.
In Psalm 23, the patriarch David depicts a beautiful
pastoralscene of the soul abiding in the Saviours love. To abide in
Christthis is our great need, especially in these last days of
ever-increas-
ing turmoil and strife. The Lords flock will be small, and it
willpress together under the tender care of the Master Shepherd.
Theconcepts found in this psalm fall naturally into place as themes
foreach month.
A basic overview of the New Testament provides the
sourcematerial for this book. The scriptural texts are arranged in
some-what of a chronological order, with the final month of
Decemberfocusing on events taking place in the last days of this
earths his-tory.
All of the daily readings come straight from the pen of
Inspiration. Great care was taken in the choice of materials,
inorder to maintain proper context and to provide real,
practicalinsights for daily living. The Spirit of Prophecy sources
are notthose commonly found on every bookshelf. It was intended
thatthey be mostly from among books and periodicals less
frequentlyread, so as to provide a fresh outlook on timeless themes
of eternalvalue.
That this little volume may offer real spiritual strength
and
much-needed courage to readers everywhere by uplifting the
won-drous Saviour of mankind, is the earnest prayer of

Who Is Jesus Christ?
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and
the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
Allthings were made by him; and without him was not any thing
madethat was made. . . . And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt
among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the
Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:13, 14).
The Word existed as a divine being, even as the eternal Son of
God, in union and oneness with His Father. From everlasting Hewas
the Mediator of the covenant, the one in whom all nations
of the earth, both Jews and Gentiles, if they accepted Him,
wereto be blessed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God(John
1:1). Before men or angels were created, the Word was withGod, and
was God.
The world was made by Him, and without him was not any-thing
made that was made (verse 3). If Christ made all things, Heexisted
before all things. The words spoken in regard to this are
sodecisive that no one need be left in doubt. Christ was God
essen-tially and in the highest sense. He was with God from all
eternity,
God over all, blessed forevermore.The Lord Jesus Christ, the
divine Son of God, existed frometernity, a distinct person, yet one
with the Father. He was the sur-passing glory of heaven. He was the
commander of the heavenlyintelligences, and the adoring homage of
the angels was receivedby Him as His right. . . . That God should
thus be manifest in theflesh is indeed a mystery; and without the
help of the Holy Spiritwe cannot hope to comprehend this subject.

No amount of reasoning or explanation can tell the whys and
wherefores of the creation of the world. It is to be understood
byfaith in the great creative power. By faith we must believe in
themighty creative power of God through Jesus Christ. 2
The One appointed in the counsels of heaven came to theearth as
an instructor. He was no less a being than the Creator of the
world, the Son of the infinite God. The rich benevolence of God
gave Him to our world; and to meet the necessities of human-ity, He
took on Him human nature. To the astonishment of theheavenly host,
He walked this earth as the eternal Word. . . . Gods
excess of goodness, benevolence, and love was a surprise to
theworld, of grace which could be realized, but not told. 3
