DAE Monitoring 6.4 Release Notes

1 Overview
This release of DeviceAnywhere Enterprise Monitoring includes major new functionalities: a script
recorder to enable easy point-and-click recording of full scripts, new commands that operate directly on
objects in native applications and in the Chrome browser, an object tree to view object structure on a page,
and the ability to switch between customers in the DAE Monitoring Portal.
Updates in this release include enhanced script results and swipe options in object commands, enhanced
device information, enhanced device search, upgrade to JDK 1.7, and support for external version control.
2 New Features
Recording Object Commands
Recording of the Object Touch command for native applications is now supported on Android 4.0.4+
devices. When you opt to record a script, an Object Touch command is automatically inserted when you
click an item inside a native application, i.e., you do not have to choose an advanced recording option.
The image below shows a script in record mode with a pair of captured Object Touch commands in a
native application.

NOTE When recording the Object Touch command on Android 4.3 Samsung devices, clicks are recorded
incorrectly in the application tray after opening it from the home screen. For instance, you might want to
record a click to launch device settings from the application tray after opening the tray from the home
screen. The click to launch device settings is incorrectly recorded after navigating to the application tray
from the home screen.

Switching Customers in the Administration (Enterprise) Portal
Administrators with the required privileges can now switch between customers in the Administration
(Enterprise) Portal, allowing you to switch between different units of your organization that are set up as
entirely separate customers. Use the Switch drop-down list that appears before the User Management tab.
Choosing a customer here applies to any tab in the portal.
NOTE This feature requires special setup—please contact your Keynote Solutions Consultant.
Object Commands on Android Chrome
Object commands used to interact with and create native object-based scripts can now be used to interact
with objects viewed on the Android Chrome browser. You can test any web page on Android Chrome.
This feature is available on Android 4.2 devices.
Object Tree
Users now have access to an object tree to view object structure in Object commands.

Swiping to Select an Object in Object Touch
When you implement a swipe in Object Touch to bring an object into view before selecting it, you can
now specify how much of the object must be visible before it is selected or touched. Specify a percentage

correctly selected. If not, increase the percentage of the object that must be visible before it is touched.

4 Resolved Issues
Date Format
When downloading aggregated or raw chart data in Excel format, run times were reported using a 12-
hour clock format. This has now been changed to a 24-hour clock format. The date/time column in the
downloaded Excel sheet is now also editable.
Copying Actions with Dependencies
When you copied and pasted an action with dependencies from one project to another, the actions folder
in the originating project was being deleted. This issue has now been fixed.
Schedules Stopping at Midnight
If a monitor was scheduled to run over an interval that spanned midnight, the schedule was interrupted
at midnight; monitor runs after midnight would not occur. This issue has been fixed.
5 End of Life Features
The Web command category for interacting with web elements will be deprecated in the next release of
DA Monitoring. These commands require a JavaScript tag to be added to your web content. Please
contact your Keynote Solutions Consultant for support details.
