  • If an archer practices, with focus and purpose, 500 arrows a day, 6 days a week, all year long, … they will be successful … … regardless of technique … but only if they can stay healthy ... and focuses on the target and not the X, 10 or 9

    KiSik Lee, Sydney, December 2015

    March 2015 Archery ACT - 2015 Information Seminar 10

  • Role of Your Coach • Every archer needs someone

Work with them as the archer sets their goals – short, medium and long Encourage the archer as they set their own Development program Support the archer through the dark times by focusing on positives Lift the archer to new heights during the often long and monotonous routines Reinforce success when everything is coming together

    • If you don’t have a Coach Get someone – even if you only catch-up every 2-4 weeks on Who else can you confide in when you need to Who else is going bring the positives to the fore when all is lost Who monitors your training and competition program for the next 2 years

    • What a coach is not A fellow competitor that you shoot with day to day A technique freak – need to help emotionally as well as mechanically Someone who doesn’t spend quality time with you and you with them

  • Feedback

    • As Coaches and Archers we need to understand feedback • If we don’t self assess we don’t continue to learn • So …

What did you like, would like to discuss, investigate, again … What did you not like, hate, … This wasted my time, its not relevant, not interested … I only teach on the “Come n Try” and they don’t need this stuff

    • and …. – When should we discuss techniques again?
