Chapter 1

“Ring ring.” The bell started the day at Living Waters primary school.

The classes 6A and 6H rushed through the school yard to the bus waiting for them. It was an absolutely beautiful day the sun was shining and you could hear the hums of birds, the kids went onto the bus following Mrs Apples and Mr Humphry lead. The journey began to the National art gallery of Australia, the kids were muttering on the bus. Bill, Katy and Johnny were especially excited they’d never been to an

art gallery before and they were interested on what sort of art work and paintings they’d see.

“We are here” Bill screamed at the top of his voice, the kids were anticipated with excitement. Mrs Apples and Mr Humphry got the kids into a straight line. They quickly entered through the shiny glass doors of the art gallery and got engaged into the marvellous art work. So far everything had gone quite well until Katy spotted out very suspicious men that looked like a personal trainer and a marathon runner chatting…

Katy, distracted by the two people, didn’t realise the gasps and screams

of the rest of the group and only realised what was going on when someone called out, “Where have the teachers gone!?”

The panic that followed was catastrophic but perfect for Bill, Johnny and Katy to meet up and break up from the group. Once Bill, Katy and Johnny were far away from the group they pulled out there secret detective equipment. No-one, not even their parents, knew about their secret detective society. In no time at all they started searching for the mysteriously missing teachers.

a goat with a top hat and a monachal appear from behind the statue”

Katy panted.

“WHAT,” The boys cried in disbelief.

“Quick follow me,” Katy yelled, they all ran down the hall way and there it was.

“Huh” they all gasped “who are you?”

“I am detective billy goat,” the goat said, “and I am here to help you, what is this nonsense you’ve gotten yourself into?”

“Well our teachers have been kidnapped and we are trying to find them

and we’re hoping that you can help us?” They all asked the goat.

“Well what are we waiting for let’s go!” The goat said in excitement.

Bill, Katy and Johnny awkwardly were watching the goat sniffing the paintings until the painting cracked open into little pieces which lead into a dark terrifying room. Detective goat got a torch from a broken down wooden table, goat checked if the torch had any battery left and luckily it did!

“Here” the goat exclaimed while passing the torch to Bill, Bill then turned on the torch to see bugs scattered everywhere

“AHHH” Johnny and Kate screamed! The goat was curiously searching

the room “Johnny get your x-ray glasses immediately, I hear voices”

Goat whispered to him so he could listen to more quiet noises.

“I’m scanning oh I found something!” Johnny said with excitement. It

was a separate dungeon-like room they all walked cautiously over to what looked like a metal like door with massive handles.

“Click clack” they were constantly squishing bugs that covered the

room. They were at the gargantuan metal door and they saw a key hole. “Where’s the key” Bill shouted

“I found it’ Katy said with absolute excitement.

“It’s time to open it up” Goat said in curiosity…

Chapter 5

The creaking of the vault door startled the kids as it slowly opened into what looked like a room from an old medieval castle. There was mould covering the ceiling and water dripping down into puddles of murky water. In the back there was a mysterious figure tied up onto a hard solid chair. The kids and the detective goat approached. It was… Mr

Humphry! We walked up to Mr. Humphry and carefully pulled off the straps that were keeping him out.

“Hello Mr Humphry” said Kate.

“Wait what? You guys are some sort of spies!” exclaimed Mr Humphry.

“Yes,” they all quietly mumbled.

“And who is this goat with a monachal?” Mr Humphry said in a

confused voice.

“Yes I am Detective Billy Goat and I’m here to save you and Mrs

Apples,” said the goat.

“WHAT THE GOAT TALKS?” Mr Humphry yelled.

“Yes,” sighed the goat. “Anyway we need to know where Mrs Apple is,

do you know where she is?”

“Um, she got taken by two guys one of them was wearing a red shirt”

“So it was those two guys I saw earlier today,” said Katy.

“OK let’s go!” cried the boys.

“Alright I’ll go help the rest of the class,” Mr Humphry mumbled.

Chapter 7

Bill, Detective Goat and Katy were storming through the hallways of the art gallery and then they heard echoes from the other side of the building.

“It must be Johnny” Katy exclaimed. They turned around and started

running in the direction they heard the echoes they went past numerous paintings and into the sculpture room where a cleaner was quietly mopping the floor shiny as new, unfortunately Bill slipped on the slippery floors and collided into a massive wooden statue and it tumbled down and collapsed into pieces. Katy pulled Bill up by the hand and fled the scene before they got in trouble with security. Goat sprinted ahead to find Johnny with Bill and Katy following his lead. The echoes kept getting closer and closer every step of the way. When goat suggested

“Just use your walkie talky to contact him”

“Oh! I totally forgot” Katy said

“Hello Johnny are you there?”

“No answer must have broken it”

“Might as well continue going this way” Now the voices were so clear

they could literally hear him screaming.

“There!” detective goat pointed out it was a dirt hole three meters deep

straight through the rock solid ground of the art gallery

“But how could nobody notice this” Bill wondered to himself. ”

“Here, I’m here!” It was Johnny.

Page 16: Detective Goat and the Missing Teachers

Bill got his grapple hook and with all their strength they pulled Johnny out. Next to the hole they noticed a trap like mechanism. Did the two men set it up on purpose?

Chapter 8

The group were trying to find Mrs Apples. Goat was furiously looking for clues when suddenly goat found a shoe. Then they had realized it was Mrs Apple’s shoe.

“It must have fallen off when they were kidnapping her” Exclaimed

goat But then goat saw muddy shoe marks hopefully leading to Mrs Apples. They followed the foot prints but the footprints started fading away the more they went around the corner.

“The foot prints have been cut off,” exclaimed Goat. They turned the other way.

“Wait what’s that” Johnny said curiously.

“Look it’s someone’s wallet, wait it’s got a person’s ID in it” said an

excited Bill.

“It must be the kidnapper’s wallet,” said Goat.

“Oh wait it’s got a marathon runner certificate so he must be a marathon

runner,” Bill told the others.

Chapter 9

The two paths stood in front of them.

“Which one should we take?” Johnny asked.

“I think we should take the right path,” said Goat.

“It has the strongest life signals on my gadget,” Katy said. They

cautiously walked down the path trying to find any type of a clue. Suddenly they all tripped face first onto the concrete floor.

“Ouch,” they all screamed in pain.

“It looks like they set up traps,” Goat said. They continued down the

hallway when they fell down a slide into a room and knocked unconscious.

Chapter 10

“Where are we,” asked Bill groggily.

“I think that we are in the kidnapper’s secret base,” said the goat.

They looked around the secret base. It resembled a stone basement but with computers and gadgets all around.

“Who is that in the corner,’ enquired goat regarding the shadow in the

corner, “is it Mrs Apples?”

“Yes it’s me,” mumbled Mrs Apple, “thank God you found me.”

“How do we get out of here?” Yelled Katy

“I can bite off the rope!” cried goat and within a few minutes they were

free. The team, now accompanied by Mrs Apples, searched high and low for a way out of the dark and dirty basement.

Finally Detective Goat found a hatch on the roof and all 5 of them climbed through. The hatch leads through a dusty shaft that seemed to never end. After what seemed like hours they reached the shaft’s end

and went through to the room at the end of the shaft. By now they were running live the whole world was in danger. Bill was so hungry that porridge would look delicious.

The group ran so far it seemed like they were in a new country and Mrs Apples’ legs were getting tired.

“What is the time; it feels like it has been days!” yelled Johnny.

For the first time in so long they saw the brightness of the art gallery.

Chapter 11

When they finally saw the brightness of the art gallery they looked around and saw they were in the hall way, when they looked over to the statue that the goat appeared out from. Behind it there was a movement it was the personal trainer and the marathon runner hurriedly jumping out of a trap door.

“Quick we need to catch those criminals!” Yelled Bill. As they chased

the criminals down the hall they soon were lead outside and there was Mr Humphry and the rest of the class waiting in the school bus. Then they rushed over to the school bus but so were the criminals, but just in time they closed the doors they drove back to school. Everyone was cheering that we made it back alive. The teachers and the kids were safe they were all happy.

The next day at assembly all classes walked in and sat down then to their surprise they saw Katy, Johnny and Bill and the talking goat they were all confused then all four of them made a speech even the goat. Then later on that day they all had a class party and they invited the goat they were all yelling in happiness and excitement. It was the best day of their life.
