Growing in holiness is possible through our

relationship with Christ. It is Christ that gives us the nourishment we need to

bear the fruits of holiness.

1. Embrace the Beatitudes

2. Be rooted in Sacred Scripture

3. Participate in the Sacramental life of the Church

4. Persist in personal prayer

5. Connect with family and community

6. Seek out justice7. Practice the

commandment of love8. Serve those in need,

especially the poor, suffering and most vulnerable

 Seeing the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:

1. Poor in Spirit… Generous because they recognize that everything is a gift from God

2. Mourn…sorrowful and empathetic…they care about others’ suffering

3. Meek… kind, gentle, and self-giving…not giving attention to themselves

4. Hunger and thirst for righteousness…seek out ways to do the right thing and to ensure people are treated with justice

5. Merciful…forgiving and compassionate6. Clean/Pure of heart…heart and mind of God…

understand what is really important7. Peacemakers…bring unity to God’s family 8. Persecuted for righteousness…willing to face

rejection, mockery, even violence for the mission and message of Jesus.

courage5. APATHY: a person doesn’t really care6. LAZINESS or lack of discipline7. PAST HURTS: need for forgiveness8. SELFISHNESS9. FAILING to ask God to make us holy10.OUTSIDE influences/temptations or attachment

to worldly possessions
