Our choices reflect a greater responsibility to our world, and our customers, by not wasting or destroying our precious resources. We are committed to making better choices, and are constantly evolving our business practices to help our customers celebrate the moment responsibly – but never compromising safety, quality or extraordinary design.

ProductPaper NapkinsOur napkin vendor seeks to protect the environment and its natural resources by using only chlorine-free bleached tissue produced in accordance with the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council. The food-safe inks used are solely of a water-based nature. All napkins are biodegradable and are packaged in a recyclable plastic sleeve.

Paper PlatesAll of our paper plates are made of food-safe coated paper from a source that is SFI, ISO 14001, and PEFC certified, and they are printed with food-safe, water-based inks.

Greeting Cards and Note CardsPaperOur primary supplier for uncoated paper is Mohawk Paper, a company that is committed to the highest possible standards regarding their impact on the environment and their responsibility as stewards of vast important resources. In addition to certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) that ensures the best sustainability practices at all stages of production, Mohawk is also Green-e certified for their use of wind-generated electricity.

Verified Emissions Reduction credits (VERs) combined with wind power bolster their ongoing endeavor to eliminate their climate impact. All Mohawk post-consumer waste (pcw) fiber is process chlorine free, and all virgin fiber is elemental chlorine free. We are proud to be associated with this EPA Green Power Partner and member of the EPA’s Climate Leaders Program. Currently we are using uncoated paper that is 30% pcw, Green-e certified, and Green Seal certified. In an effort to reduce our use of virgin fiber and keep more post-consumer waste out of landfills, we are moving toward using uncoated paper that is 100% pcw and FSC certified in addition to being Green-e certified and Green Seal certified.

FoilOur hot stamped materials are recyclable and biodegradable and compatible with the de-inking process used in recycling.

EnvelopesWe buy our envelopes from a vendor that uses wind power and is FSC Certified, SFI Certified, and a member of the Chlorine-Free Products Association. The paper used to make our envelopes has 10-30% pcw and is 100% recyclable.

Green2™Our Green2™ line of eco-friendly products are produced with recycled material and are recyclable.

Greeting Cards & Boxed NotesAll cards, envelopes, boxes, and labels are made from recycled paper. These cards are printed on Mohawk Via, which is manufactured entirely with Green-e certified wind-generated electricity. Cards, Envelopes, and PackagingProduced on 100% PCW Materials.

Gift WrapOur wrap is printed recycled paper containing 100% post consumer waste.

CatalogsPaperOur catalogs are printed on paper that is certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) fiber sourcing standard and the FSC chain of custody standard. It complies with ISO 14001 guidelines, is Green-e certified, contains 10% post consumer waste, and is elemental chlorine free. Our catalog order forms and inserts are printed on paper that is FSC certified, ISO 9001 certified, and ISO 14001 certified.

InkOur printer uses agri-based, renewable ink that incorporates corn, linseed, and tung seed oils.

AdhesiveOur catalogs are bound with an adhesive that emits no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and are run at a cooler temperature that saves energy and allows for easy recycling.

Shipping BoxesSustainability is not just fashionable; it’s the right thing to do. That’s why we use Green Bay Packaging for all our shipping supplies. For over 50 years they’ve been leading the environmental charge by developing 100% post-consumer recycled packing materials, and implementing responsible processes like zero discharge of waste water.

Their business model for sustainability is based on three, mutually balancing pillars: Social, Environment and Economic, that lend themselves to long-term growth with a deep commitment to the management of natural resources. In 1991, they received a national Citation Award in the innovation category of the Environment and Conservation Challenge, sponsored by the Council of Environmental Quality.

Selling QuantitiesOur catalog lists items per package and by units. Please order in unit quantities. We will not break case packs or units. If you do not order in full units, we reserve the right to correct your order accordingly by increasing or decreasing pieces or canceling the item from the order.

QualityWith the help of our large network of artists, designers, and manufacturers in the US and throughout the world, we have been creating innovative, trendsetting, beautiful products for more than 20 years. Credit CardsWe accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. We pre-authorize your credit card two business days prior to packing and shipping your order. We then charge your credit card at the time of shipment for the total amount of merchandise shipped plus freight.

Payment TermsDesign Design extends Net 30 terms on approved credit. A completed account application will be required to establish credit approval. We do not ship orders with C.O.D. terms, but we do accept credit cards. A $30 fee will be charged for any returned checks.

Past Due Accounts We charge a finance charge of 1.5% per month on all overdue accounts. Overdue accounts will receive monthly requests for payment. A collection agency will be assigned if the account balance is not settled. Collection costs and legal fees will be at the customer’s expense.

ShippingAll orders are shipped FOB Wyoming, Michigan. If you do not specify a shipping method, we will choose the best method. We prefer to ship via UPS, which provides complete tracking information and, if required, account notification email service. Please note that U.S. Postal Service shipments are not traceable. Customers requesting this method are responsible for the shipment in the event of non-delivery. Orders with wooden cabinets and oversized fixtures will be assigned to a LTL freight carrier with competitive rates.

Refused ShipmentsRefused shipments are subject to a 15% restocking fee plus freight expenses to and from the customer’s address.

Damage ClaimsIt is important that you inspect your merchandise upon receipt and report any problems within 5 days. Please hold all damaged merchandise and save all packaging. In the event of damage or defect, replacement goods will be sent out immediately via standard ground shipping service. Please report any issues to our customer service department.

Returns & ClaimsAll returns are required to have a return authorization number (RA# ______) and must be received in the original condition and product packaging. Customer service will issue the RA# and correct return address for all authorized returns and claims. Cartons of returned merchandise will be refused if they do not have a customer service generated RA# written on each carton.

BackordersCustomers must clearly state on each order whether or not backorders are acceptable. Backorders totaling $30 or more are kept on file until the goods are shippable. All orders are shipped with a packing slip and when needed, a backorder notification letter stating when the product will become available. We reserve the right to cancel all unshipped seasonal backorders within 20 days prior to the associated holiday.
