Derek McCrea October 2008 Artist Newsletter Wow this month has been busy. I started out with numerous commissions of still life paintings of which I have a few samples of below that I have available at http://www.derekmccrea.50megs.com/stilllife.html
On 1 OCT 08 “Arizona Desert” is being published in the Lorelei Signal at http://www.loreleisignal.com/ in a short story called “Twenty-Two” by Sarah Ashwood and a description of the story is below: Twenty notches on a pistol - the mark of a killer or a survivor in a past century. When a young man is targeted to become the twenty second notch on another's pistol he finds salvation from an unlikely rescuer - one who also has over twenty notches in her own weapon. A few of my works will be published in the Distillery magazine of the Motlow State Community College in Tennessee in JAN 09 and in the Birmingham Alabama Arts Journal in 2009. One of my magnolia paintings was selected for clothing and products for an event in Texas called "2008 Moonlight and Magnolias Ball"
A water lily shop called “Water Lily” is using my water lily painting image to use as stickers on all of their themed products. Pens on Fire at website http://pensonfire.com is publishing “The Barn” in their OCT 08 issue. I just got through donating 10 works to the below charity:
