PRESIDENTS MESSAGE Stephen Bauer
Dear Members,
As stated last month we remain in a holding pat-
tern waiting for Phase 3 of the State of Florida’s reopening plan
to take effect. It appears the recent trend of drastically increas-
ing infection rates in our area may slow down reaching that mile-
stone. With this in mind, we continue to ask for your patience
until government advisories allow our occupancy category with
respect to our average patron’s age to resume operations. Since
we cannot predict that date at this time we will follow up with no-
tices sent out by the office when conditions hopefully improve. It
should be understood that any kind of reopening will require all
persons in attendance to have and wear masks or face cover-
ings and observe social distancing at least in the short term. In
the meantime, please keep tracking the progress of Florida’s re-
opening phases through broadcast news and internet outlets
and we will be in touch as soon as it is appropriate.

Wie bereits im letzten Monat erwähnt, befinden wir uns weiterhin in einer Warteschleife und warten darauf, dass Phase 3 des Wiedereröffnungsplans des Bundesstaates Florida in Kraft tritt. The purpose of the German American
Social Club of Cape Coral according to its
Bylaws is “to promote good fellowship
(Gemütlichkeit) and provide its members
with the opportunity for group enjoyment
of activities based on songs and
traditional celebrations of German social
life. GASC is open to all persons without
regard to race, creed, culture or ethnic
background. Any discrimination, racial
coments, bigoted remarks by members or
guest, theft, and want on detruction to
club assets will not be accepted or
tolerated! Members are expected to
adhere to this policy of respect towards
other members and the club itself both
inside Club property as well as in any
public forum, including online forums
hosted by and representing the Club.
Failure to abide by this policy will result in
disciplinary action stated in section VIII, F
5* of the GASC Bylaws.

verbessern. Es versteht sich, dass jede Art der Wiedereröffnung erfordert,
dass alle anwesenden Personen Masken oder Gesichtsbedeckungen
tragen und zumindest kurzfristig soziale Distanzierung praktizieren. In der
Zwischenzeit können Sie den Fortschritt der Wiedereröffnungsphasen in
Florida über Rundfunknachrichten und Internet-Outlets verfolgen. Wir
werden uns umgehend bei Ihnen melden.

ANZEIGER
Our annual Oktoberfest has been postponed this year as concerns about
the spread of coronavirus continues and in accordance with large gathering
directives from Governor DeSantis. In these uncertain times, the health
and safety of our members and community weigh heavily in all decisions
made and we are hopeful to safely bring this event back in the first quar-
ter of next year.
Please stay tuned for further announcements as we hope for conditions to
improve.

Finally we started to work again and about 25 of our members are showing up on Wednesdays to work. Thank you for com-ing and helping our club to stay beautiful. Rainy season has started and so has the grass started growing and all the flow-ers, bushes and plants. That is a lot of work to maintain it beautiful. The out-door kitchens are prepared to be tiled, the ceiling in the potato pancake kitchen which always cost some complains be the health department is re-moved and can be redone. Our treasurer, Geri Witt, got her office renovated. Thank you all for helping. All of you travelling during the summer have a safe trip, enjoy your vacation and come back safely.
Unsere regelmaessige Arbeit am Mittwoch hat wieder begonnen und ca 25 Mitglieder sind schon wieder da, um anstehende Arbeiten zu tun. Die Regenzeit hat begonnen und damit fangen Pflanzen und Grass wieder an zu wachsen und muessen regelmaessig geschnitten und gemaeht werden, damit alles schoen aussieht. Der Boden in den Aussenkuecjhen ist soweit
vorbereitet, das smit den Fliesenarbeiten begonnen werden kann und auch die Decke in der Potatopancake kitchen, die regelmaessig beim Healthde-partment beanstandet wurde, ist entfernt und kann jetzt erneuert werden. Und auch das Office von unserem Treasurer, Geri Witt, wurde renoviert und glaenzt in neuem Look. Vielen Dank an alle fleissigen Helfer. Allen, die eine Urlaubsfahrt waehrend der Sommermonate geplant haben, wuensche ich
eine gute und sichere Fahrt, viel Spass und kommt gesund wieder.
