REPORT OF UDAAN FESTIVAL 2017-18

Introduction:
UDAAN Festival of Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, University of Mumbai for
colleges of Thane district was organized on 23rd
& 24th
January, 2018 in the College Auditorium. It is the result of the efforts of the Principal Dr. Snehal S. Donde which crystallized in the successful arrangement of hosting UDAAN Festival in collaboration with Department of life long Learning & Extension, University of Mumbai.
Objectives: The basic objectives are:
To create awareness through Street Play and Poster Competition, To provide platform to showcase students potentials,
To give opportunities to college extension students to enhance their skills in organizing
and managing the event.
Preparations:
Invitations were sent to Chief Guests and Guest of Honours.
Judges for the Poster Competitions and Street Plays were finalized and confirmed their availability
Menu for Breakfast, working Lunch and Special Lunch was determined and ordered to
Shreyank Caterers. Programmed schedule, Felicitation List was prepared. Work was allocated by forming groups of Extension students. Necessary Decorations are prepared and selfie points were created.
Calls were given to participant Colleges for confirming the number of students
participants so as to make hospitality arrangements. Sound system and seating arrangement were checked.
Detailed Report:
Day 1: 23rd
January, 2018
Day 1 began with the decorations and arrangement in Auditorium. Extension students with the help of Student Council Students have made necessary arrangement in Auditorium, on Stage and for Saraswati Pujan.
Registration Desk was set up near Auditorium. College registrations were started at 8.30
am onwards. Students assisted to Members from University DLLE Dept. for Registration Process.
After Registration, Participants were directed towards Canteen for refreshments. Total 11 colleges consisting 105 students and 12 teachers have participated.
Inauguration Session:
Inauguration of Day 1 of Annual Festival of DLLE-UDAAN Festival was started at 11.00 am with welcoming the guests and Saraswati Vandana. Dr. Dinesh Kamble honoured the occasion of Saraswati Pujan. It was followed by University song sung by Extension students. Following eminent personality graced the occasion.

Prin. Dr. Snehal S. Donde presented Welcome note and shared her experience in working with DLLE, She also expressed her gratitude to DLLE for giving opportunity to organize Annual Festival in college Auditorium.
All the dignatories were welcomed and felicitated with Shawl, Shrifal and Sapling as
token of love. The department also felicitated Shri Ratilal Sumariya and Principal by offering memento of special contribution.
Then, Dr. Dilip Patil, Director presented the statistics og college registration in DLLE,
List of activities conducted throughout year, introduction of online projects and establishment of computer center in University of Mumbai for online training courses.
Shri. Kishor Dhariya, Guest of Honour also Jalnayak of Maharashtra explained the
importance of extension activities and community driven projects.
Dr. Dinesh Kamble, Registrar, UoM, had praised the awareness created through activities conducted by DLLE and given his blessings to participants of the festival.
Inaugration Session ended with vote of Thanks by Extension Teacher, Mrs. Pooja P.
Dodhia.
Poster Competition:
Poster Competition was arranged at 11.00 am on 1st
floor of the college build. College wise one
poster was allowed. Students were instructed to carry materials at their own cost. They were given 2 hours to prepare poster on project based theme. 11 students had participated. The Poster Competition was judged by Shri Jayant Hudar. One Extension student of our college had participated by making poster on ‘Status of Women’.
Street Play Competition:
Street Play competition was arranged in Auditorium of the college. It was started at 12.10 pm
onwards. The rules and time limitations were explained by Dr. Kunal Jadhav to all participants. The
Code numbers were given to colleges performing street play to avoid conflict of interest. The
competition was judged by Smt. Bhavika Gosrani, Governing Council Member and Prin. Mrs.
Suthar, Scholars High school, Bhiwandi. The Anchoring for the Street play was done by the winners
of Anchoring competition of DLLE. 9 colleges had participated in Street play competitions
showcasing the issues faced by Women, Impact of demonetization, Eve teasing, etc. The group of 12
Extension students of our college had performed street play on “Aj ki Naari, Sab pe Bhari’
Valedictory session:
The posters were displayed in the Auditorium. The field co-ordinators and judges were felicitated by Principal and Dr. Dilip Patil.
College wise certificates were distributed to all participant colleges by calling them on
stage. The Winners of Anchor Competition were awarded with momento and certificates.
The winners of Poster competitions and Street Play competitions were announced by Dr.
Kunal Jadhav and awarded with certificates and trophy.
Dr. Dilip Patil. expressed vote of thanks to the host college stating the arrangements were upto the mark. The hospitality services provided by college were excellent. He specially called all the volunteers of the programme on the stage and felicitated by giving memento.
All participants parted by taking lunch and group photographs near selfie points.
Day 2 : 24th
January, 2018

the winners of Anchoring competition of DLLE. 16 colleges had participated in Street play competitions showcasing the issues faced by Farmers, Women, Impact of demonetization, Eve
teasing, etc.
Valedictory session:
The posters were display ed in the Auditorium. The field co-ordinators a nd judges were felicitated by Principal and Dr. Dilip Patil.

Points to be taken care: The following points to be noted to overcome from the drawback of Organizing events:
The college banner should be put on the stage of Auditorium.
The Feedback sheets sh ould be circulated to acknowledge the genuine response of the participants towards even t organizing.
The group of Students to be formed to look towards the receiving and es corting the guests.
The Proper work allocation among staff and students should be made and documented to maintain proper flow of p rogramme.
