Khanche and Student Manager Mr. Nawaf Gantare had attended the First Term Training Program, organized by The Department of LifeLong Learning and Extension, University of Mumbai on 24th June, 2019 from 10 am to 2 pm at Janarsan Bhagat Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha’s Ramsheth Thakur College of Commerce and Science, Sector - 33, Pethgaon, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India - 410210. After that, orientation program was organized for all the Extension Work Students by the Extension Work Teachers for Project Selection from 1 st July, 2019 to 15 th July, 2019. Printed form of project guidelines and instructions were given to the Extension Students. All the Extension Work Students have started their project and they will submit the same by 31 st January, 2020 for the award of 10 grace marks by The University of Mumbai.

FIRST TERM REPORT (2019-20)

FIRST TERM TRAINING PROGRAM ATTENDED

Extension Teacher Ms. Heena. M. Khanche and Student Manager Mr. Nawaf Gantare had

attended the First Term Training Program, organized by The Department of LifeLong Learning

and Extension, University of Mumbai on 24th June, 2019 from 10 am to 2 pm at Janarsan Bhagat

Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha’s Ramsheth Thakur College of Commerce and Science, Sector- 33,

Pethgaon, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India - 410210.

After that, orientation program was organized for all the Extension Work Students by the

Extension Work Teachers for Project Selection from 1st July, 2019 to 15th July, 2019. Printed

form of project guidelines and instructions were given to the Extension Students. All the

Extension Work Students have started their project and they will submit the same by 31st

SECOND TERM REPORT (2019-20)

POSTER COMPETITION (RAJIV GANDHI COLLEGE OF ARTS, COMMERCE &

SCIENCE, VASHI)

It was great exposure for the students to participate in *PRARAMBH - POSTER MAKING*

competition held by Rajiv Gandhi College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Vashi. All the

posters were submitted on the said date and were uploaded in the official Prarambh page on

Instagram for likes and comments. The exhibition has so many beautiful posters that kept

everyone amazed for a while and admire the creativity of almost every students work.

PRARAMBH (RAJIV GANDHI COLLEGE OF ARTS, COMMERCE & SCIENCE,

VASHI)

On 17th December, 2019 an enormous and very memorable college fest called “Prarambh” was

held at Rajiv Gandhi College, Vashi in collaboration with A UNIT OF DEPARTMENT OF

LIFELONG LEARNING AND EXTENSION, UNIVERSITY OF MUMBAI. There were a

number of events such as Street play, Fireless cooking, Nail art, Posters making and so on and

many colleges had participated to showcase their talent. The students took this opportunity and

participated in various events.

SECOND TERM TRAINING PROGRAM ATTENDED

Extension Teacher Dr. C.K. Prashant along with Student Manager Mr. Khemraj Kafle from

T.Y.B.Sc Biotechnology had attended the Second Term Training Program, organized by The

Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension, University of Mumbai on 21st December 2019

from 10 am to 3 pm at SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Sri

Chandrasekarendra Saraswati Vidyapuram, Plot 1-C, Sector – V, Nerul, Navi Mumbai – 400706.

After that, the orientation program was organized for all the Extension Work Students by the

Extension Work Teachers for Project work.

WORKSHOP ON “PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT: THE IMPORTANCE OF

IMPACTFULNESS

One Day Personality Development Workshop was organized by the Department of Lifelong

Learning and Extension. The Workshop was held on 04th January, 2020 (Saturday) from 3 pm to

4 pm for DLLE students.

Ms. Gurpreet Kaur Khalsa, Founder of Gurpreet Kaur Khalsa Leadership and Development

instructed the students. In the session, Miss. Gurpreet Kaur Khalsa made the youngsters aware of

how to live life on their own terms and not what the society expects them to be. She focused on

the fact of being ourselves in the world of wannabees. She discussed the importance of

Impactfulness in life and helped the students to gain confidence on what they actually are.

Over 100 students had attended the Workshop. All the Students took very keen interest and they

were eager to learn the way they can enhance their personalities through The Golden Rules

enumerated in the Workshop. The Workshop proved to be very beneficial for the Students.

SECOND TERM TRAINING PROGRAM CONDUCTED BY FIELD CO-ORDINATOR

The Second Term Training Program of the Department of Lifelong Learning & Extension

(DLLE) was organized for students on Tuesday, 14th January, 2020. The training program was

given by Prof. Vani Achari (Field Co-ordinator of DLLE) on “How to make a project report on

Survey of Women’s Status, Industry Oriented Project, Annapurna Yojana and Career Project”

and about UDAAN Festival too.

WORKSHOP CONDUCTED BY FIELD CO-ORDINATOR

A workshop was conducted by Field Co-ordinator Ms. Vani Achari on 14th January, 2020 from

12:30 pm to 1:30 pm for DLLE Students on “Basics of Disaster Management”.

ELYSIUM - CARNIVAL OF CULTURES (B.L.AMLANI COLLEGE OF COMMERCE

AND ECONOMICS, VILE PARLE)

On 17th January, 2020 a colorful and memorable cultural fest was hosted by B.L.AMLANI

COLLEGE OF COMMERCE AND ECONOMICS, VILE PARLE in collaboration with A UNIT

OF DEPARTMENT OF LIFE LONG LEARNING AND EXTENSION, UNIVERSITY OF

MUMBAI. This event started from 8 am onwards.

The guest, Dr. Dilip S Patil, the Professor and Director of DLLE, the UNIVERSITY OF

MUMBAI with the Convener Dr. JITENDRA AHERKAR arrived and the grand event began. It

was a truly mesmerizing event as the teams from various Colleges presented many programmes.

There were events like Street play, Solo dance, Poster making, Fireless cooking, Nail art, Mono

acting and the students got to learn something from every single event held on that day. The

chief guest praised the entire event a lot and inspired the students with his speech and motivated

the students to do better.

POSTER COMPETITION & EXHIBITION

The DLLE Unit of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science (Autonomous), New Panvel

organized a Poster Making Competition for its students on 17th January, 2020. The themes for

poster competition were as follows:

1. Plastic Ban

2. Women Empowerment

3. Eat healthy, stay healthy

4. Global Warming

5. Child Labor

6. Entrepreneurship

7. Energy Conservation

8. Water Conservation

9. Human Rights

Many students actively participated in this competition which showed their artistic skills and

innovation. The students expressed their views and thoughts about the various social issues by

writing slogans and quotes. It inspired them to think and work creatively in order to promote

artistic excellence. The rubrics for judgment were: Originality, Clarity of expression,

Uniqueness, Close to the Theme. Each of the posters prepared by the students was a treat to the

eyes, which also made the selection process extremely difficult for the judges.

AWARENESS ON MENSTRUAL HEALTH AND HABITS

On 18th January 2020 – Five students from Department of Lifelong Learning & Extension of

Pillai College of Arts, Commerce & Science (Autonomous), New Panvel conducted a social

activity for the slum dwellers near Panvel Railway Station. The activity was on “Awareness on

Menstrual Health and Habits” which focused on spreading awareness about using sanitary

napkins instead of clothes. They were told about the hazards and cons of using clothes and how

they may lead to infections during their menstrual cycle which also may spread and cause

infertility and be fatal in a few cases. A few Sanitary Napkins were also distributed to them.

SOCIAL ACTIVITY ON PROVIDING MEDICAL KITS

On 31st January, 2020 – DLLE Students of Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science

conducted a social activity for people in need. Our students provided medical kits to a few slum

dwellers. The condition of the Panvel station slum is way too bad and unhygienic. In an attempt

to spread and awareness about the increasing diseases our students chose 10 houses. These 10

houses were educated about personal and environmental hygiene and provided with medical kits.

The kits contained Sanitizers, antiseptic liquid and soap and mosquito repellent cream. All in all

the activity was a success and all members got to know a lot about the importance of hygiene and

the impact of diseases on a day to day life.

UDAAN – THE FLIGHT OF EXTENSION

On 26th February, 2020 17 students (15 for Street Play and 2 for Poster Competition) from our

college had participated in the UDAAN FEST at Anjuman-I-Islam’s Kalsekar Technical Campus

organized by The Department of LifeLong Learning and Extension, University of Mumbai. This

event was commenced by the arrival of the various colleges.

The events were Street Play and Poster Making Competition in which teams from different

colleges performed excellently. Our college participated in both the events.

The students really enjoyed a lot and dispersed with a sincere hope that such mega events should

be organized time and again giving the students a chance to display their talents.

The skit dealt with the issue of the LGBTQ+ community. The students acted naturally and

meticulously with raw talent. Performance was staged with appropriate props. Collaborative

efforts and hard work of all the students involved was evident.
