DELUGE VALVE AND SKID

The Deluge system is designed to protect high hazard areas

containing a severe fuel hazard with a high heat release rate by

bringing a large number of open sprayers into action simultaneously

in the event of a fire or in the event of high Temperature to keep

equipments and asset on lower temperature.

A Deluge System can be activated by the following:

1. Manually (Push Buttons on Control Panel or Local Manual

Release Valve)

2. Electrically (F&G Signals )

3. Pneumatically (Glass Bulb Detectors)

4. Hydraulically (By pass valve)

‐To make sure that the Deluge Valve will be activated on any

condition, sometimes more than 1 activating mode are considered.

Also Deluge Valves could be supplied on 2 modes:

• On‐Off Valve

• Pressure Control Valve (Due to high pressure of Fire Water Pumps

or high Pressure Differential on Fire Water Ring Main and Spray

Nozzles, it needs to control outlet pressure of Deluge Valve.)

Deluge Skid (Customized):

A Deluge System can be a simple Valve or Skid mounted along with

By‐Pass Line, Isolating Valves, Strainers, Full Test/ Drain Line, Double

Inlet / Outlet, Release Monitoring Devices (High Pressure Switch),

Release Alarm Device (Hydraulic), Pressure Gages on Upstream and

Downstream of Deluge Valve, Pneumatic Line including Air

Regulator with by‐pass Line, Air Back‐Up Reservoir, Check Valves,

Isolating Valves, Pressure Safety Valve (PSV), Pressure Switch (Low

and Low‐Low), Junction Box, Weather Proof Cabinet and Lights AND

Heating Sys for cold‐weather places.

• Cast Steel ASTM A216‐WCB* UL, ULC

• Monel QQ‐N‐281 Class B

Diaphragm and Disc:

• Buna‐N® synthetic rubber

Material of Construction of Deluge Skid:

Depends on location of plant, Seawater and Fresh Water are

demanded for fire fighting. Skid Piping should be suitable to

withstand against highly corrosive water . Cu‐Ni Piping and Ni‐Al

Bronze Deluge Valve are selected for Seawater demanded fire

water. As well as Skid and its cabinet is coated with suitable painting

to withstand against highly Saliferous and corrosive environment

(Marine Environment )

Hazardous Area:

On Oil and Gas Projects, all Instrument ( Solenoid Valves, Pressure

Switches, Junction Boxes, Control Panels and lightings) and

considered suitable for Classified Hazardous Area,

• Zone1, IIB, T3, IP 65,
