Celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi
GANESH CHATURTHI CELEBRATION AND BEST OUT OF WASTE EXHIBITION
Festivals build group cohesiveness. Festivals inform, educate, bring people together, break the monotony of
routine and give us a chance to re energize our body, mind and spirit. Of all festivals Ganesh Chaturthi is one
of the most colourful and joyful festival. In order to let the students stay rooted with Indian culture, DPS
Firozabad celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi On September 2nd ,2019 with great pomp and gaiety. On the occasion
of „Ganesh Chaturthi‟, Junior Wing, Principal sir, Teachers and senior students installed the „Ganesha
idol‟with the sound of Dhol and by chanting “Ganpati Bappa Moreya “ . Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as the
birthday of Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati. The festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi
or Ganeshotsav. The session started with a traditional lamp lighting and aarti. Children showcased an
enthusiastic dance performance and songs depicting the importance of Lord Vinayaka. All kids were looking
adorable wearing Lord Ganesha‟s head gear. They participated in all rituals and offered flowers to Ganpati
Idol. At the end they all got the Prasad with lots of devotion. To support and promote our Mission Save
Environment we planned Eco-friendly Ganpati celebration and for the same perspective we also organized an
Exhibition on the same day to support value of R-5 (Reduce, Recycle, Reuse, Reform and Reconstruct) and
make our kids socially responsible. For this purpose our kids made Idol of Eco-friendly Ganesha with the help
of their parents by using discarded material. The best impact of the exhibition was the motivation to save our
environment by our small efforts.

The power of a good speech cannot be undermined. To develop the oratory skill , stage
confidence and promote awareness on Personal Hygiene, D P S Firozabad hosted the English
Declamation for the students of Junior Wing (Class LKG -TO - Class II) in the school
auditorium. On the very 1st day of this chain of events Little ones of UKG displayed their
oratory talent by reciting beautiful rhymes , Paragraphs , Short stories on Personal Hygiene . It
was a treat to hear all the participants delivering the speeches with keen enthusiasm and
confidence. Principal Sir applauded all the participants and appreciated the efforts put in by
the young orators.
Declamation
With the view to promote the skill of effective Public Speaking, Declamation was organised by
Primary Wing of Delhi Public School, Firozabad for classes L.K.G. to Class II. On its second
day as many as 30 students from grade II participated in it. To sensitize about cleanliness, the
students declaimed on the topic „Cleanliness of our Surroundings‟. Each participants was given
two minutes. They presented various rhymes, paragraphs, short stories. Principal, Dr. Gaurav
Dubey appreciated the efforts of the pupils and expressed that such activities lead to free flow
of ideas help in sensitizing towards the issues that need attention.

“LIFE IS IN YOUR HANDS, WASH THEM PROPERLY.”
To spread the awareness on cleanliness during Swachhta Pakhwada', Delhi Public School Firozabad has planned to organize,various activities under this campaign.
Today younger ones of junior wing (Class Nursery to Class UKG) got the chance to learn and
tell about the importance of Washing Hands which is the very 1st and important step of
personal hygiene.
Children don‟t instinctively wash their hands when they are dirty, proper hand washing can help stop the spread of many illnesses--from the common cold to Hepatitis A.
Washing hands is one of the most important measures for preventing the spread of diseases.
Lathering the hands with soap and rinsing them with running water is a simple method of removing germs before they spread.
During the event teachers demonstrated them all 6 steps of washing hands, after that every
child practiced the same. They also told that washing hands is easy inexpensive effective and it help to prevent sick days and trips to the doctor.
At the end of the event little learners took a pledge regarding personal hygiene.
Learning by doing
Learning happens all the time and for that by playing & doing together. With the help of
teachers children build their social skills, language skills, motor skills & self control. They
learn new concepts and it help to improve their thinking and imaginary skills as well. For the
same class UKG students learned how does plants grow.
Celebration of Grand Parent’s Day “Grandparents are a family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest
story tellers, the keepers of traditions. They are the families’ strong foundation.”
To honor these sources of love and happiness, the young learners of DPS Firozabad from class
Nursery to class II celebrated Grandparents day- „A Day Of Gratitude” on September 27th,
2019 with great enthusiasm and fervor. Grandparents happily witnessed 100% participation of
their bundles of joy.
The function started with welcoming the Grand Parents followed by the auspicious “Lightening
the Lamp”. After that Grandparents enjoyed their grandchildren‟s performances like sweet
melodious song, Beautifully performed power packed dance performances left the spectators
spellbound and thoroughly mesmerized . Skit by kids from class I &II showcased the special
bonding between grandparents and their grandchildren.
Principal Sir Mr. Gaurav Dubey addressed the gathering and encouraged the kids for
scintillating performances to show their gratitude for their grandparents,
Grandparents also shared their views and bless all the kids . Grandparents‟ joyful smiles and
teary eyes were showing the affection as they were overwhelmed to see their grandchildren
performing for them.
