The DEFIANT MARK 80-D is a medium efficiency, self-supported, extended surface, pleated air filter. It outperforms simi-lar products in initial efficiency and average efficiency, providing maximum filter service life.

The MARK 80-D is effective in standalone applications or as a pre-filter in place of a disposable, permanent, or mediapad-frame filter. When you want cleaner air and a filter with a longer service life, consider the Purolator MARK 80-Dpleated filter. The media area and initial air flow resistance have been carefully balanced to withstand flow up to 625FPM while maximizing dust-holding capacity.

MARK 80-D can be quickly and easily installed in new or existing side-access housings, package air handling units, andbuilt-up filter banks.

EfficientThe MARK 80-D is made of continuous,synthetic, and hydrophobic (non-water-absorbing) fibers featuring maximumdust-retention capabilities. When testedin accordance with ASHRAE testingmethod 52.1-1992, this fiber blend pro-vides a 30-35% average efficiency and a90-93% average arrestance. This filtermedia has maximum dust retentioncapabilities.

DurableThe MARK 80-D filter elements areenclosed in a two-piece, heavy-dutybeverage board with high wet strength.When assembled, the fully bonded dou-ble-wall frame combines with the inte-gral corner flaps to form a rugged,durable filter which will not rack, warp,or leak under normal operating condi-tions.

DependableFor support, the filter media is continu-ously bonded to a corrosion-resistant,28-gauge, expanded metal grid allowinga 95% open face area. This media isformed into aerodynamic wedge-shapedpleats, maximizing the working surfacearea of the MARK 80-D filter. To elimi-nate the possibility of dirty air bypass,the media pack is securely bonded tothe edge of the enclosure frame.

Filters shall have a rated average efficiency of 30-35% and an avg.arrestance of 90-93% when tested in accordance with ASHRAE 52.1-1992 Test Standard. The filter shall be listed and rated as Class 2 byUnderwriters Laboratories, Inc. The filter shall have a minimum MERV rat-ing 8 when tested in accordance with ASHRAE 52.2.

Suggested Product SpecificationsThe filter shall be the MARK 80-D as manufactured by Purolator Air Filtration. A i rfilters shall be 1”, 2”, and 4” deep, medium eff i c i e n c y, pleated media, disposablepanel type. The media shall be made of continuous, synthetic, hydrophobic (non-water absorbing) fibers that are thermally bonded and free from any chemicalbinders. The filter media shall be bonded to a 28-gauge corrosion-resistantexpanded metal support grid with a 95% open face area.

To ensure no dirty air bypass, the media grid assembly shall be bonded to all inte-rior surfaces of the frame with solvent-free water-based glue. The support gridshall be formed into a wedge configuration to optimize use of the filter media. Toensure accurate pleat alignment, die-cut diagonal frame members shall be bondedto the media pack upstream and downstream. The frames will be a two-piece,high-wet-strength beverage board .028” thick.
