Dedicated to supporting employers in training the next generation of
ENGINEERS AND TECHNICIANS
Why choose MTC Apprenticeships?
The MTC is at the forefront of technological advancements and apprentices that train on our apprenticeship programme are exposed to these new and emerging technologies which can only add value to your organisation.
We are constantly developing well-rounded apprentices who will gain the skills required for today and also for the future.
Our programme builds on a strong foundation of traditional skills over-layed with themes of emerging technologies equipping apprentices for a rapidly developing engineering sector.
Lloyds Bank Partnership
Lloyds Bank has been actively working in partnership with the MTC as part of its commitment to supporting the UK manufacturing industry.
Established in 2015, the Lloyds Bank Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC) is a state-of-the-art training centre designed to create a new generation of engineers and technicians to help the UK realise its potential in advanced manufacturing.
Why apprenticeships?
The benefits of apprenticeships for young people are well publicised, but why should an employer look to apprenticeships to develop your business?
Address skills shortages
Bring a fresh perspective
Increased employee satisfaction and loyalty, leading to lower staff turnover
Supporting an apprentice is a great development opportunity for existing employees
By working with the MTC, we will…
Explain the way that apprenticeships might work for you and what level of funding is available
Provide support and guidance to organisations that have not previously employed apprentices or who do not have the infrastructure to develop their own in-house learning activities
Help you advertise and recruit an apprentice or support your existing staff into apprenticeships at no cost
Attract high calibre apprentices
Agree a training plan with you and your apprentice
Supply your apprentice(s) with a premium level of apprenticeship programme
Ensure that not only are the national quality standards met for all training, but also the MTC’s level of competencies are met
Use emerging technology embedded into a core traditional apprenticeship programme
Establish professional behaviours
Ensure that employers are fully informed of the learner’s progress
Provide experience and insight through work experience with research engineers“We have been extremely impressed by the
apprentices that have joined us at FANUC through the MTC Apprenticeship Programme. They’ve been able to pick up advanced tasks and roles within the company very quickly and they’ve demonstrated high levels of professionalism and readiness for industry.”

“Our extended sponsorship, from £5 million over five years to £10 million over 10 years,
will see industry benefit from three and a half thousand apprentices, graduates and engineers
being trained and developing new skills. This will help address the single biggest challenge that manufacturers consistently tell us about -
the shortage of skills.”
António Horta-Osório Chief Executive of Lloyds Banking Group
