SewingNote: All seam allowances are 1/4” (0.64cm). Pieces are sewn right sides together. Press seams as directed in diagrams.

Plain Rows1. Sew the Fabric V 21⁄2" x WOF (6.35cm x

WOF) strips together end to end to make a long strip. Cut the strip into (2) 21⁄2" x 721⁄2" (6.35cm x 184.15cm) and set aside as Row 1A and 1B.

2. Sew the Fabric V 11⁄2" x WOF (3.81cm x WOF) strips together end to end to make a long strip. Cut the strip into (4) 11⁄2" x 721⁄2" (3.81cm x 184.15cm) and set aside for the Dash Rows.

3. Sew the Fabric U 11⁄2" x WOF (3.81cm x WOF) strips together end to end to make a long strip. Cut the strip into (6) 11⁄2" x 721⁄2" (3.81cm x 184.15cm). Set (2) aside as Row 7A and 7B. Set (4) aside for the Dash Rows.

Flying Geese RowsRequires the 51⁄4" x 51⁄4" (13.34cm x 13.34cm) squares of Fabrics B, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, O, P, Q, R, S, T, and X

4. Mark a diagonal line on the wrong side of each Fabric V 27⁄8" x 27⁄8" (7.30cm x 7.30cm) square.

5. Lay a 51⁄4" x 51⁄4" (13.34cm x 13.34cm) square right side up and pin two marked Fabric V squares right side down in opposite corners of the larger square, so that the marks align and the corners of the small squares overlap.

6. Sew 1⁄4" (0.64cm) from either side of the drawn line through all layers. Cut apart on the drawn line into (2) units. Press open towards Fabric V. (Fig. 2)

7. Pin a marked Fabric V square right sides together in the corner of each of the two units, so the drawn line travels opposite the seam as shown. Sew 1⁄4" (0.63cm) from either side of thedrawn line through all layers. Cut apart on the drawn line to make (4) Flying Geese for each fabric listed above. Trim and square to 41⁄2” x 21⁄2” (11.43cm x 6.35cm). (Fig. 3)

8. Sew the Flying Geese together in order as shown to make (4) Units. Sew the units together in a mirror image as shown to make (2) Flying Geese Rows 41⁄2" x 721⁄2" (11.43cm x 184.15cm). Set aside as Row 2A and 2B. (Fig. 4)

Quilt AssemblyRefer to Figure 29 to assemble the quilt top.

36. Sew Row 1A-10A together in order as shown to make half the quilt. Repeat with Row 1B-10B.

37. Sew Half A to the top of Row 11 and sew Half B to the bottom of Row 11 as shown to make the quilt top.

38. Layer the backing, batting, and quilt top; baste the layers together and quilt as desired. Trim the batting and backing even with the quilt top.

39. Sew the binding strips end to end to make one continuous piece. Fold in half wrong sides together and press the length.

40. Sew the binding to the quilt top, mitering the corners. Turn the binding to the back of the quilt and hand-stitch in place.
