Gospel
Each year Jesus' parents went to Jerusalem for the feast of Passover, and when he was twelve years old, they went up according to festival custom. After they had completed its days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it. Thinking that he was in the caravan, they journeyed for a day and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances, but not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions, and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers. When his parents saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, "Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety." And he said to them, "Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?" But they did not understand what he said to them. He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus advanced in wisdom and age and favor before God and man.
(continued)
1. In the gospel, Jesus calls the temple, “my Father’s house.” Do you feel at home in the community of St. Mark’s? How do you experience it as a place of shelter and welcome? How might you help it grow to be even more a house of God?
2. How does your family support each other in times of stress and sadness? How do you handle your family problems when
a child (child of God – all of us) is lost? Is the child lost because that child has no faith? What can you do? One way is to be always looking (loving and encouraging) for them, never giving up, always having Hope.
3. How is your children’s faith affected by today’s society? How can it change?
4. What is your story of faith? Have you ever been lost? What brought you back? Can this be told to a child?

A thought for today:
As we begin this new year of 2019, remember:
Old friends are GOLD! New friends are DIAMOND! If you get a Diamond, don’t
forget the Gold! Because to hold a Diamond, you always need a base of Gold!
Friendship is like a BOOK: it takes years to write, but just a few minutes to burn.
And lastly:
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and
leave the rest to God!
A Blessed and Happy 2019!

“Box Tops For Education”
Please welcome this new project
here at St. Mark. We are beginning to collect “Box Tops” to assist
Saint Paul’s Catholic School in Leesburg in raising money to purchase a much-needed school bus.
All you have to do is cut out the
“Box Tops” symbol found on hundreds of products that you use every day.
Just drop the “Box Tops” in the specially marked wooden
box located in the Narthex.
That’s it! So simple and yet your “Box Tops” will go a long way in
providing transportation for these students.
Thank you!
If you are interested in joining
one of the many ministries
here at St. Mark , please make that
call now. We especially are in need

Please consider giving back of yourself
to St. Mark. Feel the joy of volunteering
in an effort that is rewarding
and so very deserving.
For Ushers: contact Jed Hayden
at 352-775-4279 or
Gerry Becker at 352-259-8359.

We meet from 2:00 - 3:30 PM in the 2nd floor meeting room of the Church.

Fr. Mariusz and Bob Bourbon recently presented our
2018’s “13th Annual Golf Tournament” sponsors
