Pastor: Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith let us now declare:

Pastor & People: We believe in God the Father,

infinite in wisdom, power, and love,

whose mercy is over all his works,

and whose will is ever directed to his children’s good.

    We believe in Jesus Christ,

Son of God and Son of man,

the gift of the Father’s unfailing grace,

    the ground of our hope,

and the promise of our deliverance from sin and death.

We believe in the Holy Spirit

as the divine presence in our lives,

whereby we are kept in perpetual remembrance

    of the truth of Christ,

and find strength and help in time of need.

We believe that this faith should manifest itself

in the service of love as set forth in the example of our blessed Lord, to the end that the kingdom of God may come upon the earth. Amen.

It Came Upon the Midnight Clear

It came upon the midnight clear,

    that glorious song of old,

from angels bending near the earth

to touch their harps of gold:

"Peace on the earth, good will to men,

    from heaven's all-gracious King."

The world in solemn stillness lay,

    to hear the angels sing.

Still through the cloven skies they come

    with peaceful wings unfurled,

and still their heavenly music floats

    o'er all the weary world;

above its sad and lowly plains,

    they bend on hovering wing,

and ever o'er its Babel sounds

    the blessed angels sing.

And ye, beneath life's crushing load,

    whose forms are bending low,

who toil along the climbing way

    with painful steps and slow,

look now! for glad and golden hours

    come swiftly on the wing.

O rest beside the weary road,

    and hear the angels sing!

  • It came Upon the Midnight Clear (continued)

For lo! the days are hastening on,

by prophet seen of old, when with the ever-circling years

    shall come the time foretold

when peace shall over all the earth

    its ancient splendors fling,

and the whole world send back the song

    which now the angels sing.

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

I heard the bells on Christmas day

    Their old familiar carols play,

And wild and sweet the words repeat

Of peace of earth, good will to men.

I thought how, as the day had come,

    The belfries of all Christendom

Had rolled along thee unbroken song

Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And in despair I bowed my head:

"There is no peace on earth," I said,

"For hate is strong, and mocks the song

Of peace on earth, good will to men."

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:

    "God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;

The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,

With peace on earth, good will to men."

    Let there Peace on Earth

Let there be peace on earth,

    and let it begin with me;

let there be peace on earth,

the peace that was meant to be.

    With God our creator,

    children all are we.

Let us walk with each other

    in perfect harmony.

    Let Peace begin with me;

let this be the moment now.

    With every step I take,

let this be my solemn vow:

    To take each moment and

live each moment in peace eternally.

Let there be peace on earth.

And let it begin with me.

  • Christmas Eve at Trinity will be different this year!

As COVID-19 numbers continue to rise, our Church Council has approved a new

plan for Christmas Eve Worship that will help ensure we keep our Trinity family and

neighbors safe. We have made the decision to offer two worship services on

    December 24.

    Virtual Sanctuary Service

The first service will be virtual -- live streamed from our Sanctuary at 7:00pm with

the recording available on our YouTube page shortly after. You can view it live at

7:00pm or later at your convenience. This service will feature the lighting of the

Christ Candle, carols, bells, string quartet, organ, a meaningful sermon, familiar

scriptures and “Silent Night” sung by candlelight. We hope you’ll tune in and join us

    from home!

    In-Person Outdoor Service

The second service will be an in-person outdoor service at 9:00pm on the portico of

the Sanctuary. Bring a chair and join us as we sing our favorite Christmas carols by

candlelight! All health protocols will be observed – wearing masks, hand sanitizing,

and physical distancing. Park Avenue will be closed to allow us to spread out and

    stay safe.

Though it may look different, we look forward to worshipping with you this

    Christmas Eve!

**If you ordered poinsettias for pick-up, they will be available outside the

Sanctuary beginning at 8:30pm Christmas Eve and will remain available there

    through Sunday, December 27**
