Dear Sir. I am writing to you, as I’m interested in the job that you offer, as stated in your announcement requesting writers for a magazine about a local person who might be interesting to an international leadership. I live in London, UK, and as a student at the College of Journalism, I’ve noticed quite a few interesting people, and I’ve heard a lot of interesting stories that I’m sure everyone would want to hear. I am also an active member of the Local Lives Society, where we study the most fascinating people that have lived or live in London. I am sure you’ve heard about Alfred Hitchcock, the famous film director who was a pioneer in the horror genres. Well, he hasn’t been into horror all his lifetime. I am sure you will find very interesting the stories about him as a child, struggling to sleep at night because of the fear of dark, and other very fascinating things about him that I’ve found in a very old book, which not many people know about. Also, I have even more tremendous stories about Charlie Chaplin, who is such an iconic person, especially for London. There are things about him that he wouldn’t share with anyone, but those who he shared with, gave the game away, and his stories became the talk of the town. After a few years, people forgot about them, but not everyone did. I have a friend, who is in his 70s, and he remembers those times very well. I am convinced that my findings would be of interest to an international leadership, and I would love to share with everyone the amazing stories about our city’s icons. I look forward to your reply. Yours faithfully, John Hush
