Dear Parents,
It was a pleasure meeting you all last Thursday during our Open House. During the second week, we were able to know our students a lot better during our classes and we enjoy having each and everyone of them. We have finished our first vocabulary lesson from our first reading selection as well as working on chapters 1 and 2 from our novel.
Next week, we will discuss ‘The Good Deed’ by focusing on the main skill of the passage as well as examining the types of figurative language it uses. In addition to this, we will be working on chapters 3 and 4 from our novel as well as doing a collective correction for our Holes h.w. sheet of chapters 1 and 2.
Please note that by next week, our Edmodo group will be locked. So we urge you to encourage your son/daughter to sign up during the weekend. Please make sure that his/her name is displayed as below\;

Please ensure that your child has their novel with them so that they can keep up with the material being covered.

Dear Parents,
Our week was full of different and engaging activities to introduce our students to the first week of classes and jumpstart into the first two lessons of the term.
Most of our lovely students had joined Edmodo; however, some of them still haven’t. I urge you to ask your son/daughter to join Edmodo to be able to keep up with the posts and follow up on what we are working on in class.

Next week, we will continue working with pronouns and deep into more details about different types of pronouns. As for vocabulary, I will introduce the students to a new technique of breaking down the words into parts to get their meanings.
Please be sure that the welfare of my lovely students will always be on my mind and that I will al-ways do my best to make sure everything is clear to them. Remember that communication is the best way to ensure a positive learning outcome.

Dear Family,
This week we went through what it is to classify , why do scientists do it and how.
The students were also introduced to the dichotomous key , the tool we use to classify. We had a great time in class doing our activity with our alien visitors in the class.
This week we will continue with our topic and further explain about plants and animals , fungi and protists , and many exciting kingdoms.

Last week the students completed Chapter 8 , Lesson 1 about Early Greece.
This week the students will cover Chapter 8, Lesson 2 about City-States and Greek Culture (Page 250 to 255). The students will have vocabulary words for this lesson and the objective of the lesson is for the students to analyze the Spartan and Athenian ideals and to identify which char-acteristics of the Greek City-States make up the “Greek” Culture.
Reminder: Students are required to have their Text Book in class each day. To reduce the load of carrying the books everyday, I recommend that the students copy pages 244 to 269 from their text book and to keep the copied packet in their binder. If this is do-able, then the student can leave their text books at home.
Again, I advise that the parents stay on track with the students through the blog and their channel book.
